WWE Star Arrested After Taking Shirt Off, Challenging Detroit Police

Police sources said WWE star Jimmy Uso took off his shirt and jacket and challenged the officers who had stopped them.

Detroit, MI – World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) superstar Jimmy Uso, whose legal name is Jonathan Fatu, was arrested in Detroit after he got into a fight with police during a traffic stop.

TMZ Sports reported that the incident occurred when 33-year-old Uso, who is half of the famous Usos wrestling tag team, was riding in the car with his wife, WWE star Naomi.

Naomi was allegedly inebriated and drove their 2018 Dodge Journey the wrong way down a one-way street in downtown Detroit.

Police sources told TMZ that when officers stopped the SUV, they ordered Naomi out of the vehicle because it stank of booze.

While police were talking to Naomi, Uso got out of the vehicle.

Police ordered him back into the SUV but the wrestler, who is the son of WWE Hall of Fame member Rikishi, refused to comply with the officers’ commands.

Instead, he took off his shirt and jacket, and challenged the police to a fight, TMZ reported.

Sources told TMZ that an officer drew his Taser on Uso.

The wrestler became subdued and ultimately complied with police commands, but he was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and obstruction, TMZ reported.

Uso was booked into jail and later released on bond.

WWE released a succinct statement after they received the news of Uso’s arrest, Wresting Inc. reported.

"Jonathan Fatu is responsible for his own personal actions," the organization said.

WWE’s statement was much the same as the statement they released in January when Uso’s brother, Jey Uso (legally known as Joshua Fatu), was arrested for a DUI in Texas, according to Wrestling Inc.

Uso has been arrested three times since he was signed by the WWE.

He was arrested on DUI charges in September of 2011 and March of 2013, Wrestling Inc. reported.

I'm no expert but it seems alcohol may be a problem for that family.

He seemed to believe the scripted wrestling matches he participated in made him a real bad ass.
