Winchester, KY – A handcuffed woman snorted drugs hidden in her vagina while she was sitting in the backseat of a police car.
The incident began when Winchester police officers responded to a report of an intoxicated couple who were about to drive a car on N. Main Street, The Smoking Gun reported.
Police arrived and found 28-year-old Kathryn Ahlers and her boyfriend outside of their vehicle.
The police report said that Ahlers was trying to get her 17-month-old son out of his car seat, but wasn’t steady on her feet, WKYT reported.
She told police in a slurred voice that she and her boyfriend had gotten lost while driving from Lexington to Cincinnati.
Police said the child’s car seat was improperly installed in the vehicle and that his diaper was soaked with urine, WKYT reported.
Officers also discovered that she had no food with her for the baby.
Police determined that Ahlers could not properly care for her 17-month-old son because she was “manifestly under the influence and a danger to herself and others,” The Smoking Gun reported.
She was arrested at about 2 a.m. on Aug. 5 and placed in the back of a police car.
Police said the woman found a way to pull a plastic bag of a powdery white substance out of her vagina despite being handcuffed, WKYT reported.
When officers saw Ahlers snorting the powder off the car seat, she tried to hide the drugs in her vagina again.
After officers warned her that if she was caught at the jail with whatever was in the bag, she would be facing additional charges, Ahlers admitted to having the drugs, according to WKYT.
Ahlers was charged with endangering the welfare of a minor, public intoxication, tampering with physical evidence, and possession of a controlled substance, The Smoking Gun reported.
