Woman Sentenced For Stabbing Her Rapist, Dragging Him Behind Car

Roxanne Peters said her rapist threatened to harm her daughter so she stabbed him to death and dragged him behind a car

Brisbane, Australia – An Aussie mother has been sentenced after brutally killing a man who raped her.

Authorities say that she stabbed her rapist to death after he had threatened her daughter and then put a rope around his neck and dragged him behind her car for a mile.

She was sentenced to prison for nine years.

Roxanne Peters, 35, killed Grant Cassar, 51, with a kitchen knife after he threatened to hurt Peters’ daughter if she didn’t submit to more sex, according to The Sun.

Peters stabbed Cassar in the heart in her home in Brisbane then towed his corpse past a police station to a ditch where she hid the dead body in December of 2015, The Sun reported.

A local couple discovered Cassar’s body, which had 61 injuries including stab wounds to his penis.

Peters was sentenced to nine years for manslaughter and another 18 months when she pleaded guilty to interfering with a corpse. Peters will be eligible for parole by June of 2020 with credit for time served, according to The Sun.

Judge David Boddice said the rape and threats to her daughter by Cassar were “significant provocation," according to The Sun.

According to The Sun, Judge Boddice told the Brisbane supreme court: “I accept the stabbing occurred in circumstances when you were enraged by what the deceased had done to you and was threatening to do to you again.”

The judge said Peters should have asked for help immediately after she killed Cassar.

“Instead you set about the process of callously disposing of the deceased body,” Boddice said. “No doubt your rage continued to affect your attitude to him.”

Judge Boddice also said that Peters’ upbringing in an atmosphere of drugs and that she was sexually abused made the rage that she felt when Cassar came to her home even worse.

The judge said Cassar’s family would never recover from his death.

Sweetheart, come to Texas as soon as you get out. We don't give a damn about how the rapist's family feels. From the time he raped the mother then threatened to do the same to her daughter no matter what she did to him wasn't as much as he deserved. He pushed her button and protection of her child was the most important thing she could think of. Dragging him past the police station seems a little much, but we were not there....Still the dragging didn't cause his death and nine years is a bit much for dragging a criminal's carcass through town....A pretty good warning to the next puke thinking about rape.

His family would never recover from his death? really? who the hell cares about a rapist. i would have done the same, but maybe dropped him at the police station and told them about it. Ridiculous she was sentenced at all.

And what about her. She will never recover from being raped. They call rape an unfinished murder for a reason. Change her sentences to 9 years of community service where she can work in a woman's shelter counseling rape victims

Her rage was justified and the judge should have been much more lenient. People can do horrible things when enraged, and doing this to a rapist who was going to go after her daughter too deserved it all.
