Gaffney, SC – A home intruder was fatally shot by a woman early Friday morning, after he and an accomplice broke into a couple’s home, and began assaulting the woman’s boyfriend.
“I went to crack the door open and they barged, at least two of them, barged through the door and knocked me through the wall,” Anthony said.
Alley, who was armed with a sawed-off shotgun, then got into a physical altercation with Anthony. The masked assailants also threatened to harm Anthony’s cousin and girlfriend, who were present at the time of the attack.
Despite his attempted disguise, Anthony was able to identify one of the intruders as Alley.
He explained that he and his girlfriend had recently gotten into an argument with the gunman at a local restaurant.
“He said, ‘I know where you live. I’ll be there,’” Anthony told WHNS.
The homeowner said that, in addition to the shotgun, Alley also had “wire string, to choke you or strangle you.”
As the fight between the men continued, Anthony’s girlfriend grabbed a 9mm handgun.
“We tussled to the middle of the living room, and that’s when she fired two shots into him, because it was either him or me,” Anthony said.
Alley died on the living room floor, Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler told WHNS.
The other unidentified attacker fled the scene.
Investigation into the incident was ongoing, but investigators said they did not believe Anthony’s girlfriend would face any charges, WHNS reported.
