Waffle House Responds After Employee Refused Service To 4 Uniformed Officers

Waffle House corporate headquarters has responded after an employee refused to serve four police officers.

Jennings, LA – Waffle House’s corporate headquarters has issued an apology after four Jennings police officers were denied service at one of their restaurants on Saturday morning.

“It’s sad when 4 police officers are refused service at Waffle House in Jennings…for the simple fact we are police officers,” Jennings Police Officer Ryan Courville said in a Facebook post. “Corporate was called. Just thought I’d share.”

Jennings Police Chief Danny Semmes said he received a call from the Waffle House regional manager shortly after the incident occurred, and that he was “assured the situation would be handled appropriately,” according to his Facebook post.

Chief Semmes added that the regional manager told him that officers “are always welcome at Waffle House.”

Officer Courville agreed that the management team was “extremely helpful and apologetic” in the wake of the incident, according to a later Facebook post.

“Just wanted to clear up that it is not Waffle House or a management problem, but in fact an issue with one employee,” Officer Courville added. “I am by no means bad mouthing the entirety of the business.”

Waffle House’s corporate headquarters also released a statement regarding the refusal of service.

“Our management team has reached out to Chief Semmes and apologized for the incident,” the company said in a statement to KPLC. “We are conducting a full review, and once we get all the facts we will take appropriate action quickly.”

“Our goal is for every customer to have an enjoyable experience,” the corporate office continued. “If we do not deliver on that promise, we work hard to rebuild the customer’s trust.”

Chief Semmes said that the situation was regrettable, but that he hoped everyone could “move forward together.”

If this keeps happening then police officers will stop eating at restaurants.

What about contacting the individual officers involved? They took the easy route and contacted the Chief. That's kind of a round-about way of not having to address the officers' complaint by talking to their chief. In fact they should be personally meeting with them, over lunch at the restaurant in order to firmly send the message to their minimum-wage employees that this crap will not be tolerated.

I recently arranged to meet up with a young man from the church I attend who's a rookie "on the job" for the next county South. As the the North end of that county is also the location of the Nearest Waffle House, and on his way home, and I was going to buy him a meal after his shift, I suggested we meet there. His response was that he'd rather go someplace else, because he'd been advised by more senior troopers "they don't like us there". As the instant riot in Chicago, this last weekend, showed, the anti-establishment and anti-cop propaganda has become so widespread and so "mainstream" that the typical low-information and low-income working poor or welfare-riding person may be strongly bigoted against uniformed LEO, because they've been brain-washed into collectivist lies.

The people that lie in wait for the chance to exert their "power" over a restaurant or coffee shop should be terminated. The public would expect that they be treated fairly and without prejudice as well. The police are part of the public too.

Frankly I'm less inclined to eat out anymore because I'm white, I don't want my food poisoned.

This happened in Jackson TN last year to a THP officer. Our local media refused to cover the story.

Odds are this employee is black. Jessie Jackson was spitting into the food of white customers when he was a young waiter over 50 years ago.
