Waffle House Responds After Employee Refused Service To 4 Uniformed Officers

Waffle House corporate headquarters has responded after an employee refused to serve four police officers.

Jennings, LA – Waffle House’s corporate headquarters has issued an apology after four Jennings police officers were denied service at one of their restaurants on Saturday morning.

“It’s sad when 4 police officers are refused service at Waffle House in Jennings…for the simple fact we are police officers,” Jennings Police Officer Ryan Courville said in a Facebook post. “Corporate was called. Just thought I’d share.”

Jennings Police Chief Danny Semmes said he received a call from the Waffle House regional manager shortly after the incident occurred, and that he was “assured the situation would be handled appropriately,” according to his Facebook post.

Chief Semmes added that the regional manager told him that officers “are always welcome at Waffle House.”

Officer Courville agreed that the management team was “extremely helpful and apologetic” in the wake of the incident, according to a later Facebook post.

“Just wanted to clear up that it is not Waffle House or a management problem, but in fact an issue with one employee,” Officer Courville added. “I am by no means bad mouthing the entirety of the business.”

Waffle House’s corporate headquarters also released a statement regarding the refusal of service.

“Our management team has reached out to Chief Semmes and apologized for the incident,” the company said in a statement to KPLC. “We are conducting a full review, and once we get all the facts we will take appropriate action quickly.”

“Our goal is for every customer to have an enjoyable experience,” the corporate office continued. “If we do not deliver on that promise, we work hard to rebuild the customer’s trust.”

Chief Semmes said that the situation was regrettable, but that he hoped everyone could “move forward together.”

Hi-est, you continually show what kind of idiot you are on this forum and how much a racist you really are.

@LEO0301 and I call you a racist because you're a racist. It would be wrong to call you a Nazi, because I don't know if you have a Nazi uniform or not and subscribe to their ideologies.

But, you don't need a uniform to be a nationalist son of a bitch. So, I believe racist is a perfectly apt word to describe you, based on your comments.

@LEO0301 I'm unsure where you got sucker punch from. A 60 year old literal neo-Nazi invaded my personal space and assaulted me by bumping his chest against mine in an intimidating manner. I feared for my safety and those around me after his apparent show of conflict. He bumped his chest against mine, so I bumped my elbow against his jaw. Very, very hard.

I can't change his racist ways, but hopefully he learned to step out of his fantasy world and not physically threaten someone half his age.

The people that lie in wait for the chance to exert their "power" over a restaurant or coffee shop should be terminated. The public would expect that they be treated fairly and without prejudice as well. The police are part of the public too.

Frankly I'm less inclined to eat out anymore because I'm white, I don't want my food poisoned.

This happened in Jackson TN last year to a THP officer. Our local media refused to cover the story.
