VIRAL VIDEO: Disorderly Baltimore Student Punches Teacher In Face

Student punched teacher and then yelled at her, 'Don't f--king get smart with me.'

Baltimore, MD – A video went viral of a student who punched an unsuspecting teacher in the face on Wednesday (video below).

The Baltimore City Public Schools stated it was investigating the incident that happened at Frederick Douglass High School, according to the Baltimore Sun.

The video was posted to Instagram and shows two students arguing and standing near a teacher.

Then one of the students pushes the other student aside and unleashes a haymaker that hits the teacher on the left side of the face.

In the video, after the punch the student responded, "Don't f--king get smart with me."

The teacher said, "I didn't get smart with you," before leaving the classroom behind the student. The Baltimore Sun reported the video had been viewed more than 60,000 times in less than a day.

WBAL identified the teacher as a chemistry teacher who is also a “respected elder at a church.” The teacher was not in class on Thursday.

According to the Baltimore Sun, Baltimore City schools Spokeswoman Edie House-Foster said, “school administrators will apply disciplinary action in accordance with Baltimore City Public Schools' Code of Conduct.”

House-Foster added, according to the Baltimore Sun, “Ensuring a safe teaching and learning environment for our students and staff is paramount to City Schools.”

The head of the Baltimore public school teachers union called the video, “absolutely deplorable.”

“Our teachers and paraprofessionals work too hard and sacrifice too much of their time, creativity and genuine love for teaching to be treated in such a manner by anyone, including their students,” Baltimore Teachers Union President Marietta English said, according to the Baltimore Sun. "

Of course, I was very angry when I saw that because we've asked that there be some kind of support for our teachers, and something needs to happen,” she said.

@JJ Chester what does the school being named after Republican have to do with anything

I think the root of the problem is that they named the high school after a Republican. No wonder the poor little kids feel stressed and the teachers seem to be appeasers.

Jail for the kid. Jail for the parents. MAybe a wekk or months will make them think better. She hit her and got away with it. Why, liberal attitudes about education.

Situations like this is why when my children still attended public school here in Columbus, Ohio on my days off I was a Room Mom and many of the teachers would ask me if I would sit in their classroom, even if my kids weren't in there. I'd have my Marine Camo Jacket on, Steel Toed Work Boots and a Key Ring with multiple keys hooked to my belt loop. [that's just me] whenever a kid would act up I'd stand up and say "What Did Your Teacher Just Tell You to Do!" They'd look at me and shut up and sit down. I had one of their grandparents who was raising their grandson that gave me written permission to take their grandson into the Family Restroom and use my Leather Belt to Correct Him!
