VIDEO: Two Brothers Choke And Beat Trooper, Then Citizen Hero Arrives And Opens Can Of Whoop A...

Two brothers were captures on video trying to murder a Michigan state trooper.

Berrien County, MI – Michigan State Trooper Garry Guild was in a fight for his life February 20th.

While the trooper was being choked and beaten by two brothers, two hero citizens in two separate vehicles stopped to help him. Dash camera footage of the fight has now been released.

While most news outlets would only show sanitized clips, we have the full video below.

According to MichiganLive, the incident began about 8:43 AM on a U.S. 31 bypass near Matthew Road in Berrien Township when Michigan State Trooper Guild attempted to stop a speeding motorcycle. 21-year-old unlicensed driver, Michael Barber, acted as if he were going to stop, then accelerated and fled.

He re-entered the freeway and was pursued by Trooper Garry Guild for three miles. Barber lost control on an exit ramp and wrecked. He quickly got to his feet and ran at Trooper Guild.

As Trooper Garry Guild was wrestling with the Barber, attempting to take him into custody, you can see a beer can being thrown at the trooper from a passing vehicle. That vehicle stopped, but it wasn't help for the trooper, it was Barber's brother, 19-year-old Travis Wise.

Wise charged at the trooper and started choking Trooper Garry Guild while Barber began punching him repeatedly in the face.

As Trooper Guild began to black out from the choke hold, two badass hero citizens in separate vehicles stopped to help the trooper. A 50-year-old man from Plainwell, who was not identified further, and a Berrien Springs citizen, Jerry Burnham, ran to the Trooper’s aid.

Lt. Melinda Logan of the Michigan State Police said “if not for passersby, I don’t know what would have happened.” She said that “watching the (Guild’s dash camera) video, cars kept driving by. It took pretty special people to put themselves at risk.”

Trooper Garry Guild was able to handcuff Barber, while the two citizens subdued Wise.

Barber was placed into Trooper Guild’s vehicle, where he was able to unlock the patrol car’s door and escape. State Police vehicles do not automatically have cages and their back doors do not automatically lock. He was quickly re-captured.

Lt. Logan said that both suspects continued to fight even when subdued and in handcuffs. They didn’t stop fighting and resisting arrest until other troopers and officers arrived as back-up.

Awesome job by these brave men who came to help this Officer. Had it not been for them he most likely would of been seriously injured or even killed. I hope these two POS NEVER see the streets again but that is just a dream unfortunately!!!!
