VIDEO: Trooper Shoots Drunk Driver On Bourbon St Before He Mows Down Pedestrians

A Louisiana state trooper shot a drunk driver through his windshield to stop him from running over pedestrians.

New Orleans, LA – A state trooper was forced to shoot a very inebriated man through the windshield of his car to stop him from running down pedestrians on Bourbon Street (video below).

The incident occurred at about 7 p.m. on May 30 when 42-year-old Eric Kullander turned the wrong direction from Bienville onto the 200-block Bourbon Street, The Times-Picayune reported.

The street was filled with pedestrians.

Two Louisiana State Police troopers who were on patrol in the French Quarter saw what was happening and tried to intervene, WWL reported.

Video from surveillance cameras on nearby buildings showed the incident as it unfolded.

First, the troopers were walking down the middle of the crowded street.

Then all of a sudden, a grey Kia sedan started driving the wrong way up the street, the video showed.

Both troopers rushed at the vehicle and tried to get the driver to stop.

The video showed one trooper running backwards in front of the driver’s door, in full view of the driver, while a second trooper ran alongside the vehicle.

The troopers commanded the driver to stop repeatedly, according to WWL.

The video showed the first trooper drew his weapon and pointed it in the direction of the driver, but he did not fire until the vehicle was in imminent danger of running over pedestrians, the video showed.

The state trooper fired one shot through the windshield of the Kia and struck the driver in the stomach, WWL reported.

The Kia came to a stop as it reached a pair of bollards blocking the road, the video showed.

The driver was transported to the hospital and treated.

Afterwards, he was released into the custody of police and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center, WWL reported.

Louisiana State Police officials said that Kullander’s blood alcohol level was .416, over five times the legal limit.

In addition to driving under the influence, he was charged with one count of resisting an officer with force or violence, as well as aggravated flight from an officer, reckless operation, and going the wrong way on a one-way roadway, WWL reported.

Court records showed that Kullander’s bond had been set at $100,000 prior to the addition of the drunk driving charge.

Driver white? No harm, no foul. Black? You're screwed.

Well done!

These officers done a great job. They didn't kill him or let him kill anyone either. They went home safe the moron went to jail!

With this being a terrorist MO, I don't see where they had much of a choice but stop him!

The Race Card Game. Problem its not fun or funny. America has never been so divided with every excuse anyone can dream up. Black officers shoot a white drunk driver, while saving lives and it's a race issue. Those of you playing the race card are a bigger problem for America than the Skinheads. At least they were honest enough to tell you that they hated blacks
