VIDEO: Suspect Randomly Stabs Women And Ignores Beanbag Rounds Before Being Shot

Las Vegas police released bodycam video that showed attempts to use less-lethal force before they shot Caleb Hill.

Las Vegas, NV Police have released bodycam footage of officers shooting a man on Friday who had just randomly stabbed two female strangers (video below).

The incident began inside a Regional Transportation Commission bus at about 12:50 p.m. on Aug. 24 when 38-year-old Caleb Hill randomly stabbed a woman who was a passenger on the bus, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

The video showed responding Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers as they arrived on the scene near Spring Mountain Road and Rainbow Boulevard.

In the video, officers actually passed Hill and his second victim as they drove up to the bus and went to ask the driver what was going on.

Right there, right there, right there! Thats him! the bus driver shouted and pointed to Hill, as officers approached the door of his bus.

The officers took off on foot after the man, who had just assaulted a second woman on the sidewalk, the video showed.

Hill walked away from the officers at a rapid pace, but did not run, turning back occasionally as if to make sure the officers were still following.

The suspect crossed the street, walking in between stopped cars, as officers followed him with their weapons drawn, the video showed.

Put the knife down and Drop the knife multiple officers repeatedly commanded Hill as they pursued him at a slow jog to the sidewalk on the opposite side of the street.

The man actually stopped to face officers, jogging in place, before he entered one intersection.

At one point, the video showed a black Jeep Wrangler driven by a Good Samaritan pulled up to the curb alongside Hill in an attempt to block him, but was unsuccessful.

Hill reached out and tried to open the passenger door of the Jeep but found it locked, and so he continued to make his way down the sidewalk, the video showed.

When another police vehicle pulled up and an armed officer blocked his path, Hill jumped up on a wall and cut through a parking lot to evade the officers.

The video showed officers attempted to apprehend Hill in the parking lot, but he lunged at one officer, and then turned and continued jogging away.

Throughout the entire video, officers repeatedly ordered Hill to drop his knife.

Get out of the way, an officer yelled to people on the sidewalk ahead of Hill, the video showed.

As he crossed a street free from pedestrians or traffic, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Officer Beaumont Hopson deployed several less-lethal beanbag rounds at the suspect, but it appeared they all hit his backpack, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Assistant Sheriff Tim Kelly.

The video showed that Hill didnt even flinch or slow his pace in response to the less-lethal rounds.

Police became more aggressive in their attempts to stop Hill as he approached a bus stop where several people were sitting on a bench waiting for a bus.

Sheriff Kelly said Officer Keith Hannof initially tried to neutralize Hill with a stun gun, but that the weapons prongs hit Hills backpack and were ineffective, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

When Hill slowed his pace in front of the occupied bus shop, putting more random strangers in jeopardy, Officer Hannof shot him three times.

The video showed Hill fell backwards to the sidewalk, landing on top of his backpack.

Hill was transported to University Medical Center where he remained in critical but stable condition, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

Both of the women who were stabbed were taken to the county hospital where they were treated and released.

The officers did everything they could to stop this from getting to the point that it got to, Sheriff Kelly told reporters at a press conference called to release the bodycam video.

When Hill is released from the hospital, he faces charges that include two counts of attempted murder and one count of resisting an officer with a weapon, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Should have shot him the moment they got to him. Ignored plenty of commands and then got himself shot.

It seems like the officers are dealing with more crazy people lately. I mean, I know they've always had to deal with crazy people, but it seems like their encounters with these types have appeared to become more frequent, thanks to bodycams and other videos.

@ProGODProUSA also, white men are having a rough go at it lately. Since you guys aren't used to much adversity, it's driving a whole lot of you crazy now that seemingly the world has had enough of you. Handle your shit and stop crying and hurting others. If you're having a hard time, please shoot yourself first.
