VIDEO: She Claimed Brutality Over 'Nothing,' Now PD Has Released Bodycam Video

Wildwood police have released three bodycam videos showing the arrest of 20-year-old Emily Weinman.

Wildwood, NJ – Wildwood police have released bodycam footage of officers’ confrontation with an entitled 20-year-old woman at a local beach over Memorial Day weekend (videos below).

A bystander’s cell phone footage of Emily Weinman’s arrest quickly went viral, and showed one officer as he hit the combative woman during the altercation.

Please be sure to share this newly-released information on social media to help counter the false narratives of what happened.

The incident occurred at approximately 4 p.m. on May 26, when Wildwood police encountered Weinman at the beach with her boyfriend and 18-month-old daughter.

In a since-deleted Facebook post, Weinman explained that although she was underage, 90 percent of people who drink alcohol on the beach are underage “without a doubt.”

When the officers asked for their ages, she said they admitted they were underage.

Bodycam footage showed Weinman as she provided two breath samples for alcohol testing.

She claimed that the alcohol belonged to her aunt, so the officer asked her to contact her to have her come to their location.

Weinman grabbed her cell phone, then wandered away from the officers.

“Go grab her real quick,” one officer told his partner. “We’re gonna have them pour that all out.”

In her post, Weinman claimed that the officer was going to let her off with a warning, but that he changed his mind after she told him he needed to find “something better to do” than to address underage drinking on the beach.

“I was gonna let you go but now I’ll write you up,” he said, according to Weinman. The officer then asked for her name.

Weinman argued that “you’re allowed to carry alcohol,” even when underage, and claimed she had done nothing wrong, because she hadn’t consumed any, the video showed.

“That’s interesting,” one officer replied.

He explained that possession of alcohol was still a violation, despite Weinman’s beliefs to the contrary.

When the officers asked Weinman and her boyfriend for their identifying information, she became argumentative, and refused to cooperate.

Weinman said that she "did not do anything wrong," so she refused to give the officer her name because "anything could’ve been written down on that paper," according to her Facebook post.

“You’ll lock me up for obstruction with my f*****g 18-month-old daughter over there?” she asked an officer at one point in the video.

“Yeah, you’re not cooperating,” he calmly replied. “I’ll give you one more chance to give me your last name.”

“You’re not going to lock me up,” Weinman said defiantly. “I didn’t disrespect you.”

She continued to argue with the officer, who gave her multiple additional opportunities to provide him with her name.

“You don’t need my last name,” she finally told him, as she began to leave the area.

“Okay, that’s it. I’m done with you,” the officer said, grabbing a pair of handcuffs from his partner. “Come here.”

“Don’t you f*****g touch me!” Weinman turned around and yelled, before she resumed her march away from the pursuing officer.

“You’re about to get dropped,” he cautioned her.

“Yo! Don’t f*****g cuff me!” Weinman yelled.

According to Wildwood Police Chief Robert Regalbuto, Weinman “forcibly struck” the officer in the torso, which caused his camera to turn off, NJ.com reported.

You can see the camera going off at the moment of impact.

That's when Weinman says she backed up and "tripped and fell." After tripping and falling, she says the officer somehow tackled her to the ground and "smashed my head in the sand."

"At that point I blacked out and fought any way possible trying to get up and push him off me," Weinman posted.

The fight between the officer and Weinman was underway when the officer managed to reactivate his bodycam.

As they tumbled onto the sand, Weinman hurled expletives at the officer, and continued to resist arrest, the video showed.

“They’re choking me!” she began to scream, while beachgoers looked on. “You f*****g d**k head! Get the f**k off me, yo!”

The officer delivered several strikes to subdue the combative woman, who began wailing and screaming for her boyfriend.

"It appears to me like he was trying to use a pressure point strike to be able to bend her arm, but the [internal affairs unit] hasn't done the interview yet so we will find out from the officers themselves," Chief Regalbuto told NJ.com.

“You’re not allowed to beat me like that!” she complained in the video. “I’m a woman!”

“Get off me! My daughter is right there seeing this!” Weinman continued, while the officers secured her in handcuffs.

Weinman turned her head, and spit at one of the officers during the scuffle before she was led away to a waiting patrol vehicle.

In the video, the officer recapped the series of events for another officer who had arrived.

He explained that the officers saw Weinman in possession of “Twisted Teas,” and that she admitted she was only 20 years old.

She refused to provide her information and tried to walk away, then kicked the officer’s partner, he said.

"Yes, i know I should’ve gave him my name,” Weinman said in her since-deleted post. “I was partly wrong in a way but I was scared; Like I said I didn’t do anything wrong and anything could’ve been written on that paper, the whole situation was iffy and I didn’t trust it.. especially being aware of the fact of how grimy law enforcement can be now a days.”

"I can say if I took even a sip, then I would’ve gave them my information and called it a day; I’m underage, so I know better” she wrote. “But this whole situation was handled wrongly and blew out of proportion all because these pigs didn’t do their jobs the way they were TRAINED to do so.”

"Oh, did I mention that they didn’t even take the beer [like they’re supposed to since we were underage] and finish getting my friends info?? They obviously were there to stir the pot. I know I’m not the first this happened too and definitely am sure that I will not be the last!!" she concluded.

Wildwood Officer Thomas Cannon, Officer Robert Jordan, and Officer John Hillman were all involved in the arrest, NJ.com reported. It was unclear which officer struck Weinman during the arrest.

The officers were placed on administrative duty, pending the outcome of an internal investigation, the department said on May 27.

"From what I see on the video and only on the video, from not even talking to the officers, I think they did a decent job," Chief Regalbuto told NJ.com. "I think we could have done a better job at trying to explain to her, but it didn't appear Ms. Weinman wanted to hear what we had to say. She tried to tell us it was okay for her to possess alcohol and that doesn't make any sense."

Weinman has been charged with aggravated assault by spitting bodily fluids at/on a police officer, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, obstruction, minor in possession of alcohol, and two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, the department said.

You can watch bodycam footage of Weinman’s arrest in the videos below. NOTE - Multiple videos, scroll down for more.

Refused to give name. Resisting arrest. That's what happens. Don't blame police for your actions.

The officer asked for two "favors" and she did them. In 20/20 hindsight, she should not have done any favors for the officer. Doing favors for the officer cut her zero slack.

Doesn't look like she kicked the officer in the testicles or spit at them. ON EDIT: she did spit into the air, but not at the officer.

Should have been a simple encounter, but she didn’t want that. Good job officers.

The disrespect shown to police officers by people breaking the law never ceases to amaze me...as she repeatedly says she has not. So classy referring to her child as her “F’ing daughter”...so many people should not reproduce.

Didn't I read somewhere these officers were suspended? Maybe their bosses should wait and see ALL the evidence before they judge their OWN officers

Just means she gets to pay the ticket and not sue. The #FuckinPig cop was wrong and I hope he's punished. You guys dont get to enforce your personal morality and you dont get exercise your blatant brutality anymore. Like with guns, we're rewriting the rules. Cant wait till we get the national police registry. #BadCopsShouldBeBanned

Seriously you morons, this rent a cop was a pure a-hole. Good for her, calling him out on his fckd up ego bullshit. He had no reason to bother them or attempt to arrest her. They were eating watermelon on their beach blanket, not bothering anyone. She did NOTHING WRONG, she told him the alcohol was her Aunts and she blew "NEGATIVE" on that Breathalyzer. She was not DRUNK, you idiots. The class 2 officers should not even be aloud to restrain an individual without appropriate back up or supervision from an experienced officer. They weren't a threat to anyone on that beach, and the situation got out of control when he threatened her with "your about to get dropped". I have family who are cops, they would never act this way. This guy needs to be fired, period. I hope she sues the shit out of them. This officer obviously has issues. She was only reacting in a way that any twenty year old girl would react to being haggled by a punk. "Your about to get dropped", real professional! This dude in no way de-escalated the situation, he instigated it, and she had every right to act out against that shit. Good for her for not being submissive to that asshole! For all of you morons referring to her as princess or bitch; I only hope your daughter is never in this situation. I have respect for authority, including police, but when I feel I'm being treated unfairly, or hassled for no good reason, you better believe I'm gonna speak up, its our right to do so. No doubt he will be a wife beater some day. Any of you jerks condoning this sort of behavior are obviously in the same category as this nut job. By the way, blows to the head can be deadly, speaking as a medical professional for over 20 years, who has been kicked at, hit, spit on etc. I have never responded to out of control patients by striking them! They may have to be restrained, but never through striking. Real officers are trained in restraining techniques such as pressure points etc. There was no need for that sort of force on a 90-100 lb female.

Foriz, it is not true that she did nothing wrong. To start things off: She was a minor in possession of alcohol. That is not nothing, that is illegal. She knew that it was illegal. The officer tried to explain that to her. When she was uncooperative, they attempted to cuff her. She resisted arrest. That is also illegal. She assaulted an officer. That is also illegal.

If my underage son, goes to the beach, and is sitting there with Twisted Tea, "claims" to officers that it is mine, and I am not present; He is breaking the law, is a minor in possession and it is expressly within the law for an officer to question him. My son would answer the officer's questions, would show appropriate respect and suffer the consequences of his poor judgement. If he behaved like the person in this video, he'd be in more trouble when he got home, than the trouble he had with the police.

Love how some people turn into instant field lawyers when they're embarrassed in front of others for getting caught breaking the law. Just as I thought, certainly wasn't the innocent little girl she made herself out to be. Hope they give her max fines and a little time just for being a little bitch.

An instant field lawyer would have refused the officer's request for "favors" until he explained what the quid pro quo would be exactly. Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if this arrest is eventually determined to be "First Amendment retaliation." Weinman probably doesn't know about that kind of claim, but her lawyer probably does.

She wasn’t concerned with her 18 month old before, why should the police be concerned during her arrest. After all her aunt was there to take care of the daughter, but’s she’s evidently wasn’t concerned either.

If she wasn't disrespectful in the beginning that changed by the end. Wrong is wrong. There is no way to make it right.

Burgers Allday

She was respectful in the beginning. She consented to take a breath test that she didn't have to take. Then she consented to take it again after she passed it the first time. He arrested her to punish her for verbally criticizing him. That ain't right. ON EDIT: it would also be interesting to know if the twisted tea was initially in the cooler and if she consented to open the cooler for the officer. If so, then that would be three "favors"

Foriz and Winnkin: It's called MIP for a reason - minor in POSSESSION of alcohol. The law doesn't read "MIP of alcohol ONLY if they're drinking at the time or the container is open." She must have thought she was special and would be given the "good girl award" cuz she wasn't imbibing. PC - probable cause - was gained when they saw the alcohol in her cooler. That allowed them to ask for her info and to submit to a breathalyzer. Her refusal to give her name got her a resisting arrest charge, which turned into assault on a peace officer when she kicked them.(Oh, I'm sorry - did you guys miss that part of the video?) At that point, they had the right to use necessary force to subdue her. Contrary to your opinion, which is all it is, not fact, they did not use BRUTALITY or excess force. The officer striking her was using a tactic called "pain compliance" to bring her under control. There you have it, your basic Police 101 class on dealing with those "privileged" few who think the laws don't apply to them, geared especially for their misguided advocates.
