Hialeah, FL - Retired Miami-Dade Firefighter, Jorge Jove was arrested Wednesday afternoon after he grabbed a "Dirty Harry" type revolver (caliber unconfirmed) and opened fire on utility trucks (video below.)
The incident started at around 11 AM on Wednesday in front of 620 SE Fifth Place. AT&T utility workers had their trucks in front of 64-year-old Jorge Jove's residence while they were working on telephone lines.
Jove confronted the utility workers and told them to move their trucks. The workers responded that they would move them as soon as they were done with the cable work.
The retired firefighter then went back into his house, grabbed a large revolver, and started shooting the utility trucks. The incident was captured on video by one of the workers.
Jove could be seen on the video shooting out the tires in the first truck, and then moving to a second truck and shooting at the engine and radiator. There was a worker in the top of the bucket truck while Jove was shooting the truck.
"He's shooting the truck right now. There's a guy shooting the tires and shooting the engines and everything," AT&T technician Derrick Taylor could be heard telling the 911 operator.
Hialeah Police responded and took Jorge Jove into custody without incident.
