Philadelphia, PA - Police are seeking the public's help in identifying teens who beat a disabled man on a Facebook video (video below.)
Gerald Andrews posted a video of the assault saying, "Pls help me share this. This guy is a friend of mine who happens to be mentally challenged"
In the video, the smiling man appeared to be distracted as a teen suddenly sucker-punched him in the face for no apparent reason.
The victim, later identified as "Mark," appeared to be in shock from the sudden attack and reeled backwards as the teens all laughed. When he tried to walk away, as second teen pursued him and punched him his right ear.
The suspects' faces are clearly visible in the video, but Philadelphia Police have still not been able to identify them.
“Obviously, what is depicted in the video is very disturbing,” Sergeant Eric Gripp said, according to Philly.com. “We would implore anyone who has info on the video, or who knows the identity of the victim to reach out to police.”
Andrews said that Mark works with him at the ShopRite in Cheltenham, and he found out about the video from a coworker.
“He keeps that smile on his face. He wants to talk sports. He’s a good guy,” Andrews said. "It's heartbreaking."
Let's do our part to make sure that these punks are brought to justice, and spread their faces across social media until somebody comes forward to the police.
