VIDEO: Parkland School Shooter Attacks Broward Deputy In Jail

The Broward Sheriff's Office has released video of Parkland school shooter Nikolas Cruz attacking a Broward deputy.

Broward County, FL – The Broward Sheriff’s Office has released surveillance video of the Parkland school shooter attacking a Broward sheriff’s deputy in jail (video below).

Broward Detention Sergeant Raymond Beltran was guarding then-20-year-old Nikolas Cruz in the facility’s dayroom just before 6 p.m. on Nov. 13, 2018 when they got into a verbal disagreement, according to the Sun Sentinel.

Sgt. Beltran had told Cruz to stop dragging his sandals on the ground, and Cruz responded to the detention officer’s command with his middle finger, WTVJ reported.

The incident report said Sgt. Beltran stood up, and Cruz rushed him, according to the Sun Sentinel.

The newly released video showed an enraged Cruz lunging at the deputy and slamming him back against the wall.

Then Cruz punched Sgt. Beltran with his left hand, and the two men began grappling and fell to the ground.

The report said they struggled until Cruz managed to get on top of Sgt. Beltran. Once there, he proceeded to punch the detention deputy in the face multiple times with his right hand, the Sun Sentinel reported.

At that point, another detention deputy saw what was happening in the dayroom and called for backup, but the video showed that no one arrived in the dayroom to assist the deputy for more than 90 seconds.

As Cruz continued to rain blows down on the sergeant’s face, he grabbed hold of the deputy’s Taser and removed it from the holster, the Sun Sentinel reported.

The weapon went off as the two wrestled for control of the weapon, according to the incident report.

Surveillance video from within the jail showed Cruz struck Sgt. Beltran several more times in the face before the detention deputy was able to take the weapon away.

After the sergeant regained control of the weapon, he struck Cruz in the face while holding it, according to the Sun Sentinel.

The school shooter then got off Sgt. Beltran and took a seat in a chair in the dayroom.

The video showed Sgt. Beltran leveled the Taser at Cruz and ordered the man to the floor.

He put Cruz in handcuffs a moment later.

The sergeant was injured in the attack by Cruz, but Broward officials didn’t release any details about those injuries.

Cruz was initially arrested on Feb. 14, 2018 shortly after he went on a murder spree inside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.

Seventeen students and faculty were murdered, and another 17 were wounded in the massacre.

The attack on the deputy in the Broward County detention facility occurred as Cruz remained behind bars awaiting trial on 34 charges for the Valentine’s Day school shootings, according to WPTV.

He pleaded not guilty to those murder and attempted-murder charges after prosecutors announced they would be seeking the death penalty against the former Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student, WTVJ reported.

Authorities said Cruz is facing several new felony charges as a result of his attack on Sgt. Beltran.

He was charged with aggravated assault on an officer, battery on an officer, and using an electrical or chemical weapon against a law enforcement officer in connection with the attack, WPTV reported.

The problems caused by all these POS's could be solved for less than $1.00.

Maybe I’m missing something, but the article describes Cruz dominating the fight and raining blows on the Officer’s head. The film shows the Officer pretty much controlled the bout, in my eyes.

Dysfunctional urban youth. This is the problem with today’s gang and hip hop culture. Turning young men into desperate animals. Cruz is rabid and too far gone. A product of leniency.

That little shit needs to be put down

I think he should be buried in the sand up to his head at low tide. Set it up as a pay for view extravaganza and the county could make a fortune. Imagine the screaming as the water got closer and closer. Oh, the fun we could have.

He should have never made it off campus.

Where's the CO's back up?

Prime example of the problem with our justice system. Overwhelming evidence of guilt shouldn’t take two years to go to trial. They need to put him down already.

Kudos to the officer who did not unload on the young man what he so richly deserves! But I must ask, where is his backup?

Put him in the Big house

Firing squad. Finish him. If we did that more often, then getting into prison would be a far less attractive option.

There is a LOT MORE to this story. The DUI arrested guard is an officer assigned there for his suspension pending the outcome of his DUI that occurred while on official travel.
The guard's body language says he could care less, and was upset because Cruz disturbed his nap. ANYONE with CIT training can easily see that something was up with Cruz and you were SUPPOSED to either help, or let him be.

Probably the lack of response by other officers is a result of the mismanagement techniques and misdirection implemented by the previous Sheriff.

I think lead poisoning would be justified here

My take from the "given" facts are: •That this monstrous SNOWFLAKE might be on a high security level [given that massacred so many lives] and with that he is kept separate from other inmates (it's a typical standard).
•The Sergeant's backup ~may be~ delayed due to my first point. Certain states, security tiers, totality of threat, etc. have procedures stating that 100%, you cannot go into ______ area during an emergency WITHOUT a suited up team of Officers with the proper weapons, even if it's an Officer in danger. There is a whole line of reasoning behind it.
•A picture can say a thousand words, but unless you were there when it was painted, don't be quick to draw harsh conclusions. The Prison system is a very different world. I cannot imagine that that Sgt. would be napping with so much anger between them. Apparently he was watching Cruz like a hawk because he reacted immediately before being hit like with a missile. Remember, crazy tops brawn!

What the heck BLM are you getting into fake reporting? The video is nothing like the written narrative. The CO totally handled his little dumb ass.

Officer did a good job. If you didn’t see the video you woulda thought the officer lost the fight. He took a hit when he got jumped but quickly gained control. That video needs to be kept for training for sure.
