North Las Vegas, NV - Dashcam video shows the moment a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper was doused in booze as a beer truck lost its load next to his traffic stop.

Trooper Travis Smaka had stopped a speeder on I-15 near the Washington exit. Then a beer truck lost its load just as Trooper Smaka asked the occupants, "You guys have anything to drink tonight?"

Trooper Smaka looked up and saw "well, over 1,000 pounds of beer shattering and a tidal wave of beer coming at me," Trooper Smaka told News 3.

"When you watch the video, it is a little amusing but at the same time, sends a serious reminder of what happens on the freeway when people do cut in front of semis," said Trooper Jason Buratczuk.

"That was one of the funny things I was thinking about afterwards. I just picked up my uniform at the dry cleaners and then I was soaked head to toe in beer!" said Trooper Smaka.

Trooper Travis Smaka let the speeder go with only a warning after the driver had his car pelted with beer.
