VIDEO: Man Points Gun In Cop's Face And Shoots, Instantly Regrets It

A would-be cop-killer pointed his gun in an officer's face and shot, but he still lost the gunfight.

Louisville, KY - A man was shot by police after he pointed his gun in an officer's face and pulled the trigger. Video of the incident was captured on bodycam (below.)

The incident started at around 1 a.m. Saturday morning, when Louisville Metro PD officers received a report of a suspicious vehicle at the Breckenridge Square Apartments, according to WDRB.

Officers made contact with the three people inside of the vehicle, and asked them to exit.

The front-seat passenger responded by drawing a revolver, pointing it at an officer's face, and shooting, according to WHAS.

The gunman, later identified as 20-year-old Elijah Eubanks, contracted a sudden case of lead poisoning as officers returned fire.

The officers were not hit in the gunfight.

Eubanks was transported to University Hospital where he was listed in stable condition, according to WHAS.

The officers were identified as Officer Ian Stuart, who has been with Louisville Metro PD since June 2016, and Officer Eric Goldschmidt, who has been with the department since Feb. 2015. Officer Goldschmidt is the bullet-dodger.

You can see the video of the shooting below. Audio kicks in at the 30 second mark. WARNING - Graphic Content:

I have seen so many police , Black confrontations where most of the time the Black man gets shot , once in a while the cop gets shot, but I truly believe its mostly a case of not understanding each-other and fearing each-other , It is obvious this guy was scared out of his ass and probably thought these cops were gonna kill him no matter what, and that is the state of mind he operated in during this confrontation, the cops obviously were treating this like a felony stop with an armed and dangerous suspect, I mean they had their guns drawn and they were aggressive in demeanor, so with each side in this very explosive state of minds , I could of predicted what was gonna happen without even reading the headline. It is high time for a new police tactic. Instead of aggressively approaching a suspect, (I really don't know if this guy was "suspect " or not) and screaming out demands, they should approach with more diplomacy and stop demanding people to do this or that, because they never know if they are dealing with a schizophrenic or depressed or unstable person at all . I know cops would laugh at my suggestion but it isn't a laughing matter. If police just get call for a suspicious person I really do not think they should approach with aggression. There is a smarter way to talk to people when they are under suspicion, and it isn't by screaming at them , and white police should keep in mind that many Black people are pre conditioned into the belief that they will in some way be mis-treated by white police, some may be in a state of mind where they are expecting to get killed by police for no reason. While this isn't true in many situations , it has happened to black people thousands of times in the past and more than likely if it hasn't happened to them personally then they know of someone or a family member who has been beaten by, framed, or even murdered by white police in the past.On the other hand many white police have seen the videos where the crazy black man just ups and shoots a cop just for approaching the driver side window, and I believe this is in the back of many cops heads as they approach a suspect. So here we have two people already in the state of mind that the other may , in a blink of a second, kill them, and not a word has been said between them yet. That is a very volatile situation and one too common in American society. So I think the police should be the party that initiates the "non aggressive" police stop. Where instead of aggression, diplomacy is used and a little more care is taken before guns are pulled out , and people end up dead.
