Surprised the cops were allowed to shoot the perp, given this is KKKalifornia. I imagine they've all been fired now. Hopefully, he is now taking a dirt nap.

Why would anyone live or work in California, aka Russia 2.0? I mean really? It's become a third world country of elitist rich Democrats and their drug-addicted, welfare-scamming, illegal alien-protecting lemmings.

What has happen to Southern CA LEO. The old Story of the Great LAPD Officers in the Onion Field Shoot out Officer's Gun taken from two Detective's. That tot all LEO for years in many Police Academy to always carry a (Back-Up Hidden Piece on your person(s). That was my Number One rule when I started working in Southern CA LEO LA area and LA County Officer's from 1980's to end of my Retirement of 1997 always carried Two weapons one issued Duty side Arm then second Approved Back up Weapon. There was never on Duty Patrol officer's no matter what their Assignments did not practice this. It was SOP all major Departments most CA LEO. How Time has changed God Bless you still working.. Retired Northern CA.LEO.

I counted at least 13 shots.

From another site: "Officials have not said how many times Young was shot, but they said his wounds were not considered life-threatening."

That really, really stinks if true. Another one who will have all of his medical bills paid for by the taxpayer, and three meals a day for the rest of his life (I wish), even if they can find a jury to convict him of Attempted Capital Murder.

This right here is why the trooper in an article and news video last week was running away from the naked murderer. He would have overpowered her and this would have been the result. While everyone was bashing the trooper, no one seemed to notice that it was a woman. She was just buying time for back up to arrive. I'm so glad this officer wasn't shot. Thank God for the perpetrators bad aim.

Time for retention holsters. Too many police officers are shot with their own guns. Happened about three miles from where I am sitting a couple years ago. Retention holsters will become even more important as gun control laws are passed and black market guns get scarcer and scarcer.

Always always always, at least two hand guns. I've known many police officers who carried only one pistol and were shot to pieces when that one was either inaccessible or malfunctioned. There's nothing faster than a New York reload.

I'm elated that they shot that filthy and mangy, violent POS, hoping that decrepit POS was expired.

Glad she survived, she should think about another line of work though, not only did she come within an inch of being killed, but she put bystanders lives in jeopardy as well as her responding police collegues, when she gave up and had her duty pistol taken from her by the mangy violent POS!

I'm Old School, chics should not be cops, firefighters or combat military, its simple they become a liability and then put others in harms way!

I think I'm getting soft and/or losing my exterior "shell" or something. I'm retired LEO, and I know what it's like to be in the fight for your life. The suspects did not get my gun, but they tried. Watching this makes me cry. That incident just screwed up the Deputy's head for years to come, whether she recognizes it now or not. PTSD will rear its ugly head sometime in life. I pray that Riverside S/O has an EAP as well as Critical Incident Debriefing. If any leaders at Riverside S/O are reading this, PLEASE do a Critical Incident Debriefing. If you don't know how to do it, it's crucial that you do it the right way. Ask for volunteers to help put together this new team. IT IS CONFIRMED TO HAVE SAVE MANY LEO LIVES!!! Police suicide is tragic, but what an incident like this does to your head, nobody knows or understands unless they've experienced it personally. Without help and without knowing who to turn to, LIFE BECOMES HELL and you lose good employees that way. Take care of them. Treat them as if they've been shot, except there is no physical damage because it's all in the head. WE are our own worst enemy when it comes to double-thinking, re-thinking, questioning ourselves. That can eat a person up and lead to suicide. The truth is, first and foremost, we are human. We're not robots. Second of all, the Deputy did what she did and was just doing her job. She did not go to work that day to get killed, but it almost happened. Everyone at that scene (and PLEASE DO NOT FORGET THE DISPATCHERS WHO HANDLED THE CALL!!) needs to go through a Critical Incident Debriefing. Don't forget Fire and Medics. All emergency personnel involved need to go. And I'll say it again, please don't forget the dispatchers. They're usually forgotten by PD Admin just because they're not sworn. Ugh.....that was hard to watch.

Looks like PC and diversity in the force is working well. A female officer, in my opinion, should never respond to a call and be first one without backup with her in situations like this. How many female officers have lost their guns or tasers this year to suspects? I'm glad she's OK.
