Las Vegas, NV - A Las Vegas Metropolitan police officer was forced to shoot a naked suicidal man after hemade a run for the gun that he had previously dropped. The shooting was captured on video (video below.)

The shooting occurred Saturday after officers responded to a report of a naked man with a pistol who was threatening to kill himself in the parking lot of the Life Springs Christian Church at at 2075 E. Warm Springs Road.

The suspect told an employee that he was high on LSD, marijuana, and alcohol, and that he wanted to kill himself.

Officers surrounded the area and worked on talking down the suspect, who was later identified as Jason Funke.

Funke complied with the officers' commands to drop the weapon, and slowly approached the officers while saying "finish me." Just before he reached the officers, he appeared to have had a change of heart, and made a dash back for his pistol.

The officers and K9 ran after the man, but they weren't going to catch him before he reached his weapon. Then an officer fired a single shot, taking Funke down.

Funke was hospitalized in stable condition and is being charged with possession of a dangerous weapon on school or child-care property and indecent exposure, according to Las Vegas Review Journal.

On scene, officers recovered the loaded gun and Funke's clothing, which contained $30,000 cash.

Jason Funke is a ranked poker player who won over $27,000 in tournament prize money last month, according to The Hendon Mob.
