VIDEO: Killer Fleeing From Police Suddenly Turns Around And Loses Gunfight

Parolee Javon Lewis fired four rounds at Milwaukee police during a foot pursuit in June, striking one officer's holster.

Milwaukee, WI – Bodycam footage captured the moment that an armed suspect turned around and opened fire on the Milwaukee police officers who were chasing him on foot (video below).

One of the rounds struck and cracked a pursuing officer’s gun holster, the Journal Sentinel reported.

The harrowing encounter occurred in the 4300-block of North 84th Street on June 8, after Milwaukee police received multiple 911 calls about a fight between a man and a woman, Milwaukee Police Homicide Division Captain Thomas Casper said in the video release.

The woman involved in the altercation was the first person to call police.

“She stated there was a male outside of her building who was hitting her, and was armed with two guns,” Capt. Casper explained.

The victim identified the attacker as 34-year-old Javon Lewis, the 911 recording revealed.

Lewis was on parole for homicide at the time of the altercation, Capt. Casper said.

Officers arrived at the scene within minutes, and located Lewis and the woman standing outside.

When the shirtless suspect spotted police, he began walking away, bodycam footage showed.

“Who are you in all this?” one of the officers asked him.

The officer began following Lewis, who waved him away and said that he did nothing wrong.

“You got any ID on you?” the officer asked him.

“I don’t have to give you ID because I’m a neighbor and I’m walking off,” Lewis responded.

The officer told him to stop, but Lewis refused and broke into a run as the officer closed in behind him, the video showed.

Just seconds into the chase, the officer suddenly yelled out “gun!” as the suspect turned towards him.

“Just prior to reaching North 84th Street, the male removed a handgun from the left front pocket of his sweatpants,” Capt. Casper said in the video release. “As the male subject was running across the street, he turned and fired multiple shots at the officers who were pursuing him.”

One of the officers immediately returned fire, hitting Lewis “in his upper right side,” the captain explained.

The gunman collapsed to the ground in the middle of the roadway, bodycam footage showed.

Investigators recovered his loaded Smith & Wesson handgun and four spent shell casings from his weapon at the scene, Capt. Casper said.

One of the rounds the gunman fired went through the window of a nearby apartment and was found lodged in an interior wall, but no bystanders or officers were injured during the incident, the Journal Sentinel reported.

Lewis was rushed to a local hospital, where he was treated and released.

According to court records, a female witness found Lewis on top of a woman while punching her prior to police being called to the scene, WITI reported.

When the witness tried to pull him off of the victim, he allegedly told her that she “better let him go, or this gun may go off,” according to the criminal complaint.

Lewis then allegedly choked the victim until she passed out, and told the witness that he would shoot them both if she didn’t get out of his way, WITI reported.

That’s when the witness told him that police were on their way.

“I’m going to shoot her, and they going to have to shoot me,” he responded, according to the complaint.

The would-be cop-killer was convicted of first-degree reckless homicide in 2001, after he fatally shot a 38-year-old man when he was just 15 years old, WITI reported.

He was sentenced to five years in prison, followed by 44 years of community supervision.

Lewis has been charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, two counts of intentional attempted first-degree homicide while armed, and strangulation and suffocation while armed, according to Capt. Casper.

He faces up to 136 years in prison if he is convicted of all the counts against him, the Journal Sentinel reported.

Now let's see how the media spins it. Kid walking to church after visiting his grandmother, on his way to college to finish work on his degree in "Not Too Bright".

Another good shoot by the police, but that will not stop the criticism of the shooting by DemonRATS and the Black Lies Mob and the propaganda media.

Happened in Providence Rhode Island last week. Two officers approached a wanted subject and he fired on them as he ran away. Officer's vest stopped the round. And here's a funny aspect to the story: The suspect fled into a house and had to be talked out. He came out and surrendered peacefully after complying with police commands, and (ready for this) Was. Not. Shot. Stunning.

WTF??? He only served 5yrs for homicide? And he was released to continue his menacing, where he almost killed more people!!! Too bad the cops didn't put him 6ft under!!! POS waste of oxygen!! Now the tax payers are footing the bill for his hospital bill, lawyer, trial, and lifetime incarceration!! Would have been cheaper to kill him!! This kind of person is a rabid dog and should be put down immediately!!

On parole for a murder that he committed when he was 15. Parole system worked really well. NO PLEA DEALS on this scum bag. Just a shame that he didn't die on the scene.

Why was he allowed to live and go kill another day? He should've been taken out on the spot! Why waste taxpayer money trying to maintain these animals in the zoo?

So at what point during that exchange was the officer supposed to say 'please don't kill me'? Must've missed the precise moment...
