VIDEO: Horrific Video From Inside Classroom During School Shooting

The school superintendent said there had been "numerous fatalities" at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.

Parkland, FL – A student has posted a terrifying video from the inside of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School during the shooting there this afternoon (video below)

There were “numerous fatalities” at the high school on Valentine’s Day in what the Broward County Schools superintendent called it the deadliest school shooting in the history of Broward County (video below).

More than 20 students and teachers were shot or injured at the Parkland high school on Valentine’s Day

Just after 4 p.m., Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel announced that the shooter was in custody.

“At this point, we have no evidence that there has been more than one shooter,” said Robert Runcie, the superintendent of Broward County Schools.

Runcie told WSVN in a live interview at the scene that the shooter was believed to be a former student.

“There are numerous fatalities. It’s a horrific situation. It’s just a horrible day for us,” Runcie said.

He could not confirm how many had been killed, nor whether they were students or teachers.

Runcie said he was aware that at least one “administrator or teacher” was a victim, but could not confirm their status.

The superintendent said the school had received no warnings or threats prior to the incident. He confirmed there were school resource officers on campus at the time of the shooting.

The incident began at about 2:35 p.m. on Feb. 14, when a student opened fire in a classroom of the freshman building at Douglas High School.

Police took the suspect into custody at a home located at 11735 NW 47th Street, only a mile and a half from the high school.

The suspect was believed to be a former student at the high school.

After arresting the suspect in the Windham Lakes gated community in Coral Springs, police transported him to North Broward Hospital via ambulance, with a police escort.

A student who stopped to talk with reporters as he evacuated told WSVN that he heard gunfire from his classroom, but assumed it was just students popping balloons somewhere on the high school campus. There were a lot of balloons on campus for Valentine’s Day.

“I was in my classroom and the fire alarm went off and we all just went out … and then we saw kids running and we heard rumors,” he told WSVN.

Other students told reporters that they thought they were having a fire drill when they heard the alarm going off, because they’d already had one planned fire drill earlier in the day. Once they got outside their classrooms and saw students running, they heard announcements that it was a real situation.

Just before 3 p.m., the Coral Springs Police tweeted a message to students and teachers who are caught inside buildings on the campus telling them to shelter in place.

Earlier, the Coral Springs Police posted a tweet asking people not to call 911.

SWAT brought in armored vehicles to approach both sides of the building where they initially believed the suspect was hiding, according to WSVN.

@Randy-

Still not wanting to talk about the first amendment are ya?

How about the fourth and fourteenth?

Is there any other amendment that "is like the Koran. Not a word in the Koran can be changed. The defenders of (enter your choice) Amendment are behaving like extremist Muslims who will take every word in the Koran as sacred. (enter your choice) Amendment is sacred."
