VIDEO: Fugitive Tells Cops They'll Have To Kill Him To Get Him Out, He Was Wrong
South Euclid, OH – A theft suspect with multiple warrants out for his arrest refused to comply with police and told them they would have to kill him if they wanted him to get out of his vehicle (video below).
The incident occurred on Sept. 8, after the South Euclid Police Department (SEPD) received a report that a 24-year-old man had stolen a $52 air mattress from the Walmart store on Warrensville Center Road, WOIO reported.
Officers stopped the suspect vehicle on Miramar Street and found the male and his mother and sister inside.
Bodycam footage showed one of the officers as he opened the front passenger door and told the male suspect that he was being detained because of an outstanding warrant.
The alleged thief refused to get out of the vehicle, even as his mother and sister begged him to cooperate.
“Y’all gonna motherf--kin' kill me today,” the suspect told the officers at one point. “That’s what the f--k y’all about to do. ‘Cause I don’t give a f--k about my motherf--kin' life.”
The officers repeatedly told the suspect they were simply there to take him in on the warrant, and that he would have his opportunity to present his arguments about the underlying charge to the judge, the video showed.
“You’re making this harder than it has to be,” one officer said. “We’re here to work with you.”
“Y’all got to kill me today,” the suspect argued again.
“We’re not gonna do that!” multiple officers responded.
The fugitive told the officers that they weren’t going to take him anywhere.
“Y’all wanna suck my d--k or something?” he taunted.
The suspect’s sister and mother then began yelling at him to get out of the vehicle, the video showed.
“They’re asking you nicely!” one of the women snapped at him. “Just get outta the car!”
The suspect warned the officers not to touch him, and assured him that he would “punch” them “in the motherf--kin' head” if they tried to do so, the video showed.
One of the officers briefly attempted to physically remove the man from the vehicle, then stepped away as a second officer deployed his Taser.
The suspect immediately began squealing, and the officers yanked him out the opened passenger side door and onto the ground.
His mother later told police that he has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, and that he was not taking his medications, WOIO reported.
The suspect was taken into custody and transported to MetroHealth Hospital for a mental health evaluation.
He had three warrants out for his arrest at the time of the incident, and has also been charged with obstructing official business and theft.
