VIDEO: Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott Gets Away With Shoving Security At Music Fest
Las Vegas, NV – Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott was detained at a music festival in Las Vegas after police saw him shove a security guard to the ground (video below).
The incident occurred at about 3 a.m. on May 19 as Elliott and his girlfriend attended the Electric Daisy Carnival, TMZ reported.
Video captured by a bystander showed Elliott, wearing a LeBron James Los Angeles Lakers jersey, and his girlfriend walking around the event arguing with each other.
One a couple of occasions, the National Football League (NFL) player repeatedly bumped into his girlfriend and used his body to block her path, the video showed.
Then the video showed Elliott and his girlfriend talking to event staffers, and the NFL player losing his temper on one of them.
“You got something to say?” Elliott asked and then he shoved the much smaller man backward into a metal gate.
Then the Dallas Cowboy used his forearm to shove the staffer to the ground, TMZ reported.
“I didn’t do anything!” Elliott yelled right away after the altercation, but that didn’t stop both security and Las Vegas Metropolitan police officers from rushing over to intervene.
The video showed Elliott cooperated as officers put the football players in handcuffs and led him away.
Luckily for the popular Dallas Cowboy, the event staffer he shoved didn’t want to press charges against Elliott, TMZ reported.
"Two officers approached and placed Elliott into handcuffs while they investigated the incident. The security guard who was the victim of the misdemeanor battery, refused to press charges and officers escorted Elliott a short distance away and he was released,” a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department spokesman said.
Frank Salzano, Elliott’s attorney, told TMZ that his client was having a normal discussion with his girlfriend and said event security was “overreacting.”
"Security misconstrued and overreacted to the situation," Salzano said. "He was cuffed as a precautionary measure. He was released with no charges. He left Vegas that night and went to his [youth football camp in Dallas] on Sunday."
Elliott signed a four-year, $24.95 million contract with the Cowboys in 2016, according to the Dallas Morning News.
