VIDEO: Cops Heckled By Protesters While Hunting Gunman Who Shot ATF Agent

Officers involved in a manhunt for a would-be cop killer were heckled by protesters.

Chicago, IL - Law enforcement officers were heckled by protesters as they were conducting a manhunt for a gunman who shot an ATF agent in the face on Friday.

The ATF agent was working with Chicago PD on a federal gun investigation near West 45th Street and South Hermitage Avenue when shots rang out at around 3:15 a.m., WLS-TV reported.

The agent was shot in the face and transported to the hospital in critical condition. He is expected to survive his injuries.

Following the shooting, officers from numerous agencies swarmed the area to hunt the gunman.

The law enforcement presence brought out protesters who heckled the officers involved in the manhunt, accusing the police response of being "aggressive" and "excessive," according to WGN9.

The protesters held signs which said "Stop the harassment" as they chanted "Whose streets? Our streets" and accused officers of illegally recording them.

"CPD came like soldiers," one activist told WGN9. "Bullying, pushing people."

“This is the fourth law enforcement officer that’s been shot over in that area," Chicago Police Supt. Eddie Johnson said, according to WGN9. "You think we’re going to take this lying down? I’ve got a message for them: We’re coming for you.”

Local "community organizer" Berto Aguayo posted video of some of the heckling along with a statement which said in part, "It hurts us to see this reaction when an officer is hurt as opposed to a civilian. And, it hurts even more to be mistreated in this way for the actions of a few. Throwing flashbangs, pushing little kids, and having no respect to our humanity."

A $61,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest of the shooter.

At least 82 people were shot in Chicago last week.

Wow, you clueless anti-immigrant haters. This is not about people protesting the pursuit of an ATF agent's killer; its about an abusive invasion of a community with violent force. How well has that abusive attitude worked for Chicago police? They continue to fail every year at protecting and serving! I hope that few of you commenting are actually cops, because I know my cop friends would be ashamed to share your company. What the Chicago police are doing is a violation of the Geneva Convention in times of war and sure as hell is not acceptable domestic police behavior.

Article 33: Individual responsibility, collective penalties, pillage, reprisals. No protected person may be punished for an offense he or she has not personally committed. ... Reprisals against protected persons and their property are prohibited." Under the 1949 Geneva Conventions, collective punishment is a war crime.

"Free speech gone mad." ikr. What is it with these "lowlifes"? Lol. Cops can't stand criticism. But that is because they know what they do, routinely, is wrong. It's violence, not protecting and serving (other than themselves). Don't you guys have some more rewards ceremonies to go to? Cops: the ultimate participation awards snowflakes.

Stop violating people and the protests will end.

And why are these people not working to support themselves instead of being ion the street. Oh, wait, I forgot how the welfare system allows their lazy asses to bypass work while we pay for them to sit home and bitch and have more bastard kids.

Burgess Allday please clarify that statement. The way I see it they can't do anything all all. A ATF agent is shot in the face and the fine up standing citizens of your fair city are giving the cops grief. Am I the only one that seems something wrong with this picture.
