Washington, D.C. - Cell phone video has surfaced which shows the shooting of two Metropolitan Police Department officers and the suspect.
According to USA Today, the incident occurred around 10:40 PM Thursday night in the 1300 block of Morse Street NW near Holbrook Street. Both Metropolitan Police Officers were in uniform and were part of a crime suppression unit. They appeared to be making an arrest when the shooting occurred.
Both MPD Officers, who were not identified, were conscious when they were transported to MedStar Washington Hospital Center. One MPD officer was shot in the leg and the second MPD officer was shot in the torso. Newly-named Metropolitan Police Chief Peter Newsham said that their injuries were non-life threatening, according to NBC Washington.

In a tweet on Friday morning, February 24, 2017, Gregg Pemberton, D.C. Police Union Treasurer, said that both Officers ‘were in stable condition and were in good spirits.’ The investigation is ongoing.
Earlier on Thursday night, four men were shot in three different shootings on Wheeler Road SE. All have non-life threatening injuries. No arrests have yet been made in those incidents.
