VIDEO: Car Full Of Men Attempt To Lure 10-Year-Old Boy Into Car
Riverton, UT – A car full of men tried to lure a 10-year-old boy into their car and the incident was captured on the boy’s family doorbell camera.
The 10-year-old boy Grayden Dowland was walking on Dec. 26 to his home from his basketball coach’s house which is about a 200-feet trip, according to KSTU. (Video below)
The boy makes that walk several times a week, but on this day a car pulled up at about 6:20 p.m.
“I started walking home and there was two guys in a car,” Dowland said, according to KSTU. “They said, ‘Hi’ and I started walking faster. And they said, ‘Get in the backseat, we have some candy.’”
There were three men in the car and they were strangers, according to the 10-year-old boy.
The doorbell camera showed Dowland running to the family’s front door, but it was locked.
Meanwhile, the car full of men had stopped in front of his neighbor’s house in reverse, according to KSTU.
When Dowland realized the door was locked, he picked up some rocks and yelled, “Mom! Mom! Get away! Get away!”
The 10-year-old boy said if the car got any closer, he was going to throw rocks at them.
Dowland then ran to the neighbor’s house one door down. That door was open and Dowland ran inside and locked the door. The men in the car, however, didn’t leave right away. They pulled forward into the other neighbor’s driveway and waited for minutes.
Dowland’s family is still upset about the incident, according to KSTU.
“It was really real,” said David Dowland, the boy’s father, according to KSTU. “I saw the video and it’s gut-wrenching.”
The family described the suspects as three men in their 30s or 40s with no facial hair in a white four-door sedan.
