Bodycam video showed ex-Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Lance Mason running from police after he killed Aisha Fraser.

Shaker Heights, OH – Police have released bodycam video of the apprehension of a former Ohio judge after he stabbed his ex-wife to death in his driveway (video below).

The bodycam video showed police responding to a 911 call about a domestic incident at a home on Chagrin Boulevard in Shaker Heights on Nov. 17, 2018, the Daily Mail reported.

Former Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Lance Mason’s sister, Lynn Mason, called police and said that her 52-year-old brother was attacking his ex-wife in the driveway and she was inside the house with the couple’s children, WEWS reported.

"When she pulled in to drop the kids off as agreed, as she was taking the children out of the car, he attacked her," the victim’s uncle, George Fraser, explained. "Traumatizing them for the rest of their lives."

Lynn Mason told police she thought her brother had killed his ex-wife, 45-year-old Aisha Fraser, WEWS reported.

"He stabbed her, and she is dead," Lynn Mason told the dispatcher.

When police arrived, Mason attempted to flee and rammed his SUV into a police cruiser, injuring the officer, WJW reported.

Court documents said Mason was driving “fast enough to cause multiple airbag deployments and disabling damage to both vehicles."

The bodycam video showed officers pointing their weapons at a black SUV that was stopped in the middle of the street with its front end embedded in a police SUV.

“Put your hands up. Put your hands up now!” officers yelled over and over at Mason in the video.

The video showed Mason ran from the officers and a police K9 and led them back to the yard of the home where he had just murdered his ex-wife.

Police chased Mason down the driveway of the home but the video showed he ducked inside through a side door.

At the end of the driveway, Fraser’s body lay bleeding out from stab wounds.

The video showed some officers went to Fraser’s aid while others pursued Mason into the house and took him into custody.

The video showed Mason was bleeding profusely from one of his wrists.

It wasn’t known if the former judge had slashed his own wrist intentionally.

“I cannot believe I did this,” Mason said to one of the officers in the video before asserting his Miranda rights, according to the Daily Mail.

Later, he apologized to one of his small daughters as she was led out of the house and across the yard by a police officer.

It wasn’t the first time that the former judge attacked their mother.

He was charged with domestic violence in 2014 after he punched and choked Fraser in front of their daughters.

Court records showed that Mason was indicted on Aug. 26, 2014 on multiple charges including felonious assault, domestic violence, kidnapping, and endangering children, WEWS reported.

The Ohio Supreme Court issued an order the day he was indicted that disqualified him from serving as a judge.

Mason was sentenced to two years at the Lorrain Correctional Institution but received a judicial release after only nine months, according to WEWS.

Court records showed that Fraser, a sixth grade teacher at Woodbury Elementary School, was awarded $150,000 in a civil lawsuit Mason, and in December of 2017, the former judge was disbarred.

Mason was still on probation from that conviction and had a no-contact order for Fraser when he murdered her, WEWS reported.

The former judge pleaded guilty in August to all counts against him in the indictment, including aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault, violating a protection order, and grand theft, the Daily Mail reported.

He said entered the guilty plea to spare their daughters from having to testify against him in court.

The former judge was sentenced to life in prison, and will be eligible for parole in 35 years, according to the Daily Mail.
