VIDEO: 4-Hour Standoff Ended With Fur Missile Launch, Lot Of Cops

A police K9 officer helped end an hours-long standoff with a man police believed was under the influence.

Orange, CA – A four-hour standoff between a man in a truck and police officers came to an end Sunday night after a K9 officer dragged the suspect out of his vehicle (video below.)

In dramatic video captured by KNBC, a man suspected of driving under the influence led police on a chase through Orange County that began at 5:45 p.m. on Feb. 4.

He eventually pulled over in Anaheim, and KNBC cameras captured video of the man moving wildly in the truck, but refusing to come out for authorities.

He opened and closed the door of the truck repeatedly, and at one point, officers fired pepper balls into the truck to try and flush him out of the vehicle. The pepperballs appeared to have no effect, KABC reported.

Police moved in armored vehicles to pin the truck in place, and then sent in a police K9 to extract the suspect from his vehicle.

The video showed the dog grab the suspect by the arm as he remained seated in his van.

The suspect tried to shake the dog off, and then began punching the dog.

After repeatedly punching the undaunted K9 officer on the snout and head, the man appeared to realize that he would never be able to free himself from the fur missile's grasp.

Eventually, police officers bearing Tasers, shields, handguns, and long guns surrounded the door of the van, and the K9 was able to pull the man out.

The video showed the man remained standing, as the dog gnawed on him and police commanded him to get on the ground.

The K9 held on as the man tried to walk away, and then police tased the suspect.

The Taser appeared to knock the suspect to the ground, but he continued to fight while numerous officers jumped in to subdue him.

At that point in the video, the K9’s handler appeared to assist the K9 in disengaging from the suspect.

The suspect was arrested shortly before 11 p.m., and taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Four hour stand off X 8-10 officers + canine. Charge this dumby with the value of their time as well as his original offense, and all others as stupid as he is that resist. The rights of criminals should NOT supercede rights of law abiding citizens, and we should not have to fork out extra money to apprehand them. Let those who "use" the services fund them.

When the dog says get out of the vehicle you should probably get out of the vehicle.
