VIDEO: 4 Cops Beaten By Crazed Man Facing Discipline For Winning Fight

Four Milwaukee police officers were assaulted during a violent attack on Wednesday evening.

Milwaukee, WI – Four officers were viciously attacked by a violent suspect on Wednesday evening, after one of the man’s family members called police for help (videos below).

Several cell phone videos from bystanders were heavily circulated on social media in the wake of the incident, and police released bodycam footage of the encounter on Thursday.

The incident began at approximately 6:30 p.m., when an unnamed female relative of the man contacted Milwaukee police and said that 25-year-old Demetrius Lowe had broken down her door, Chief Alfonso Morales told WITI.

The woman was hiding from Lowe behind a vehicle when she placed the call, she said.

The woman explained that Lowe had been behaving in an unusual manner all weekend, and that she believed someone had put something in his drink that caused him to act violently towards his relatives and other residents.

Bodycam footage showed officers as they approached Lowe on a sidewalk outside of a residence.

Police told the man to get on the ground, but he backed away from them, yelling incomprehensibly.

After one officer’s attempt to grab him failed, Lowe punched another officer in the face, and ran away.

The officers gave chase, and were able to catch up to Lowe a short distance later.

“Mother f****r!” Lowe said, as he turned back towards one of the officers and began repeatedly punching him in the face.

The officer fell to the ground, where Lowe delivered a couple more blows, then tumbled into the street.

He squared off with police yet again, as he swung his fists wildly and continued to yell.

“We need a Taser operator. Now,” an officer said over the police radio.

The bodycam clip ended as Lowe continued to advance towards one officer, refusing to comply with repeated commands to get onto the ground.

“I am Demetrius!” Lowe yelled.

Cell phone footage captured Lowe’s continued attack on the officers, one of whom had blood running down his face.

Police backed off of the street and onto a lawn, as Lowe continued to walk towards them, ignoring their commands.

One officer deployed his pepper spray, but it had no effect, the video showed.

“I am Demetrius!” Lowe screamed at the officers repeatedly.

Two officers struck Lowe in his legs several times with their batons, but the agitated man didn’t appear to notice.

Suddenly, Lowe charged at one of the officers, who successfully avoided the man’s flying punch.

The police swarmed him, and Lowe flailed and fought as they pulled him to the ground, the video showed.

One officer deployed a Taser, but Lowe continued to resist arrest. The officers finally subdued him with multiple body strikes.

Citizens quickly converged on the scene, and began heckling and yelling at the officers.

"He always has outbursts when he’s walking through here," a man who did not want to be identified told WISN. "I think anybody can see that he’s kind of off."

Lowe was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, police said. He was also expected to undergo a mental health evaluation.

Four officers were injured during the attack.

Lowe’s repeated blows caused one officer to sustain “significant facial injuries," while others were left with bruises and swelling across their bodies, the Journal Sentinel reported.

All four officers had been released from the hospital as of Thursday evening.

One officer was placed on administrative suspension, Chief Morales said.

The other three officers were placed on administrative duty pending the outcome of an internal investigation, as per protocol.

"I support the members of the Milwaukee Police Department," Chief Morales said. "The officers take tremendous risks on a regular basis.

"However, it is important that officers abide by our training and policy," he added.

Lowe’s family has already vowed to take legal action against the Milwaukee Police Department, and said that officers did not do enough to de-escalate the situation, WITI reported.

"To see that this happens to him just breaks my heart," Lowe’s cousin, Shanikqua Stokes said. “He’s very family-oriented. He’s always jolly.”

Stokes claimed that Lowe was drugged during the weekend, and that he went to the hospital for a toxicology test. She said the unknown drug had negatively affected Lowe’s kidneys, but did not explain why the hospital released him.

"He was having hallucinations and he couldn't sleep," Stokes said. "Maybe [the police] need to refresh their training in communicating on how to talk a subject down from being aggressive instead of becoming aggressive with the subject. Two aggressive things is not going to de-escalate the situation.”

You can watch bodycam and cell phone footage of the altercation in the videos below. Keep scrolling down for additional video:

Total and utter bullshit. Fuck these animals. And the officers are now suspended for an internal investigation? Another spineless chief pussying out to the trash in the community.

Maybe the responding officers should have just given him a big hug and told him everything would all be OK.

Evidently the family did nothing to de-escalate the situation either. They should be held accountable also.

Hear we see the makings of winning the ghetto lottery. Call the police for help and then video tape the encounter hoping the police have to fight the person you called about. Then make a complaint that the police didn't do their job properly and when the Chief pusses out, sue the city for whatever you can think. Should any of the officers be disciplined for a policy violation the police union should strongly consider a vote of no confidence and ask for the Chief's resignation.

Unbelievable!! The cops get a beating and the family are blaming them? And they did nothing to help their own flesh and blood either!!

His family helped plenty. They set him up to win a liberal lawsuit against the very people they called for protection. Disgusting!

The officers did nothing wrong. That guy was clearly on drugs. He wasn't even fazed by the officers baton strikes. The officers showed tremendous restraint with the guy. He was bleeding, the officers were bleeding. It was chaos. I send my praises l to the officers. Thanks for alerting me John-Brown hole.

so, the man's FAMILY MEMBER calls the police for HELP, and now they want to sue?? Now it is obvious the guy is wigged out on something and truth is now days law enforcement never know what that shit might be. All the GB's runnin their mouths in the video "f* the police" and the punk yellin "yo! that dude just beat up all those police!" It's people like YOU that created neighborhoods like this and turned society this way! Instead of laughing and taking video, WHY didn't you try to help get the guy's attention and try to calm him down?! Maybe if he didn't see a man in a uniform, he would have responded differently! I do think the police should have kept their distance from him and tried to talk to him more as long as he wasn't hurting himself/public and nobody's life was in imminent danger until paramedics and more back up arrived. As many people know, many of these drugs give people an almost "superhuman" amount of strength and are extremely dangerous. A crowd of people laughing and yelling certainly didn't help to de-escalate the situation either, and the man's own brother is seen yelling and having to be restrained by police. His behavior didn't help to de-escalate the situation. I hope those two factors are taken into consideration if the family does sue since they are citing that "the police did not do enough to de-escalate their family member" even after they were the ones obviously in fear of him in the first place.

wow 123
wow 123

wow wow!! I hope all the officers get a lawyer and sue this POS right along with the chief what a P*y for throwing his officer's under the bus. No they don't need to refresh their training in communicating on how to talk a subject down tell your family to stop hanging out with druggies..Next time why don't you talk his ass down and call a crack head to help instead of 911

Watching this video it shows what the real problem is they were videoing and cheering him on. Thinking it was funny, him assaulting police officers. It wasn’t funny before they got there because they were the ones that called in the beginning. That thug should have got his butt kicked for putting his hands in the officers. Those thugs videoing and cheering him makes my blood boil!!

Hi_estComnDenomn
Hi_estComnDenomn

@Cstuartsr

First off, he's not a thug if he got drugged.

Second, what should make your blood boil is that these pussies got hired to serve and protect. If you watch this with Benny Hill music, the bike cop that took a swing and fell when no one touched him is really, really embarrassing.

Well Hi_estComnDenomn it's obvious you have never had to deal with someone so wacked out that nothing you do to them hurts. The baton strikes didn't faze this guy, nor did the pepper spray. Now I know that in the controlled environment of martial arts where your opponent knows when to fall to the ground, things are different. Police officers have to be careful of the amount of force used or they risk getting arrested and losing their job over some nut case. What really should upset you is the yelling in the background from members of your own race. This is what the police are faced with in EVERY one of those neighborhoods. Why haven't you said anything about that Cheech? Too embarrassed for your own race?

Twas watching COPS once that featured LAPD. They had a similar situation but in an apartment. The supervisor at the scene gave these instructions to the other officers: we will order him to comply; if he doesn't, John will tase him and if that doesn't work, then Bill ... shoot him.

There is no intelligent reason for a cop(s) to battle to the point of sustaining injuries. PERIOD!

Rascal1966
Rascal1966

This is getting f--king ridiculous!!! These cops did nothing wrong. Technically they could of shot him because all other measures failed. Luckily enough officers arrived and it took all of them to get him down. But your POS sorry asses couldn't handle him so you called the police. Now you want to sue?? For what??? He wasn't shot or injured. You would think once a lawyer sees the footage, he'd tell them they don't have a case but most lawyers only see dollar signs. Smdh

LEO0301
LEO0301

@Hi_estComnDenomn yes, the crowd is a part of the story. Read it again for clarification. I'm not sure how you made the determination the officer is a "pussy" because he lost his balance but I'm sure you'll have another retarded explanation, Cheech. I'm not the least but embarrassed for the officers. In a situation like this, when you have to deal with a hostile crowd of heathens along with someone who is obviously stoned out of his mind, the officers have to be aware of how their use of force is perceived by people like you who have only done battle in a dojo where everything is choreographed.

Hi_estComnDenomn
Hi_estComnDenomn

@LEO0301
first off, i didn't say the crowd wasn't part of the story. I said they were inconsequential to the story, since this is about slap stick cops and a drugged individual.

Second, someone charged to protect just showed that he's never thrown a punch in his life. He needs training.

Third, saying there is choreography involved with martial arts is just like saying choreography is involved in police training. OF COURSE actions are planned during training.

Do you shoot real bullets at each other in drills? No, but you train to go through the real actions for muscle memory.

LEO0301
LEO0301

@Hi_estComnDenomn The officer who lost his balance wasn't throwing a punch, he was swinging an asp. Police officers aren't trained in boxing. We are taught to go hands on and use pain compliance techniques. In this case, a man so out of it on drugs felt absolutely nothing when the officers struck him repeatedly with their asps. You have a limited strike zone when using an asp because God forbid you might strike the person in a place that would actually get their attention, like the head for example. Again, the crowd is not inconsequential to the story nor the officers who have to worry not only about some crazed lunatic but also a crowd of people with a long history of trying to hurt police officers. Yes, I've personally fought people who are martial arts trained and they do well until the other person actually strikes back...lol

Of course people make mistakes. But this guy has never hit anything in his life though. I'm talking fighting, baseball, golf, etc.Look at his feet when he tries to swing. He has no idea how his body works when trying to make contact with something.

He has an asp and wields it like a magic wand. Then he goes for the one-handed one-legged pirouette twirl attack and whiffs.

LEO0301
LEO0301

@Hi_estComnDenomn Being an athlete is not a prerequisite to being a police officer. I played sports all my life and am fairly coordinated. But when you put on over 20lbs of gear it changes your ability to do things, even for those of us who have coordination. The ballistic vest and gun belt make it difficult to maneuver. You wouldn't know that of course because sitting behind a computer all day doesn't require moving anything but your fingertips.

@Hi_estComnDenomn of course you would know the weight of the equipment an officer carries...oh, wait....that's right you never wore the uniform so you haven't the slightest idea. And you've come to the conclusion an officer is a "pussy" because he lost his balance....I understand, it's like the conclusion I came to in regards to your sexuality. If you're right about the officer, I must then be right about you, Cheech.
