Little Rock, AR - A gunfight broke out inside of crowded nightclub Power Ultra Lounge on Saturday, July 1, according to FoxNews. 25 people were reported to have been shot, and three additional people were injured during the gunfight.
The incident occurred about 2:30 AM at the Power Ultra Lounge. Little Rock Police Chief Kenton Buckner said that the shooting did not appear to be terrorist-related. He told reporters that it happened after "some sort of dispute [that] broke out between people inside."
In a video that was posted online by a club patron the rapper Finese2Tymes, who can be seen performing. The nightclub was crowded with people who had come to hear the rapper, who is from Memphis. During a break from the concert, several bursts of gunfire can be heard, including an 11-second period, where more than 24 shots can be heard.
Police said that all 28 victims were alive, including one who had initially been listed in critical condition, according to KATV.
In an advertisement for the rapper Finese2Tymes posted on the nightclub's web site, there is a picture of the artist holding what appears to be some type of assault rifle, and it's pointed directly at the viewer.
In a Facebook post, Little Rock Mayor Mark Stodola said:
"My heart is broken this morning-- my prayers are with the victims of this tragedy. Thanks to the first responders and our hospitals.we are still gathering information and will have a press conference this afternoon. We are committed to doing everything possible to bring safety to our city. We need everyone to help."
The nightclub incident happened after a week of violence in Little Rock, where multiple drive-by shootings occurred. It is not known if these incidents are related.
No arrests have yet been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
