United Airlines Passenger Attacks Air Marshals, Threatens To Kill Everyone

Holly Matkin

Dana Ghazi Mustafa has been released from jail while the federal case against her is pending.

Correction: The original headline said that this incident occurred on American Airlines. It occurred on United Airlines.

Dulles, VA – A drunken United Airlines passenger assaulted a federal air marshal and threatened to kill everyone aboard her recent flight from Germany to Virginia, according to court documents.

“I’m going to stab everyone on the plane, then kill myself,” 27-year-old Dana Ghazi Mustafa declared during her Feb. 22 flight, according to a U.S. Attorney’s Office press release. “I’m Palestinian! That’s how we get down.”

Sometime after the plane departed Frankfurt, flight attendants were alerted that a smoke detector had been activated in one of the lavatories, according to court documents.

They located Mustafa inside the bathroom, reminded her that it is against federal law to smoke on the airplane, and told her to go back to her seat.

After initially complying with their directives, Mustafa began crying and claimed that she was heading home to see her family, but that they had been killed by a drunk driver.

The flight crew relocated the distraught woman to another seat to make her more comfortable, but her erratic behavior only increased, FOX News reported.

While sitting in her new seat, Mustafa allegedly slammed her fist into the television screen in front of her, then hurled a coin at the bulkhead.

A short while later, she got up and began walking towards the rear of the plane, clicking the flint on her lighter.

According to a federal air marshal aboard the aircraft, Mustafa smelled of an alcoholic beverage when he and a second air marshal confronted her to stop her from going back into the bathroom with the lighter, FOX News reported.

She instantly became combative as they attempted to restrain her in handcuffs, and repeatedly kicked one of the marshals in his shins.

Once she was subdued, the marshals plopped Mustafa down in a seat beside them, then spotted a half-empty liter bottle of Absolut vodka resting inside her open carry-on luggage, FOX News reported.

Mustafa claimed that she was allowed to drink the vodka on her earlier flight, then began hurling threats about stabbing the other passengers and killing herself.

She also allegedly told one of the marshals that she wanted to punch him in the face and that she was trying to imagine what it would feel like to stab him, Heavy reported.

Mustafa was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on a charge of assaulting a federal officer shortly after the plane touched down at Dulles International Airport, according to FOX News.

She allegedly confessed that her claims about her family being killed by a drunk driver were a lie.

During her initial court appearance on Feb. 24, the judge allowed Mustafa to be released from jail while her case is pending, Heavy reported.

She was told to abide by travel restrictions, and was also ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation.

Mustafa was court-ordered not to abuse alcohol.

According to Heavy, Mustafa’s social media profiles indicate that she is generally employed as a schoolteacher.

She faces up to eight years in prison if she is convicted of the charge against her, FOX News reported.

Attacking a US Marshal, AND making a terrorist threat! Are they not taking that seriously becase she's an attractive, young female? She also threatened to kill herself and others, that requires a psych eval in the ER. If she goes and kills herself and or others, that liability is going to fall directly on the US Marshals. She was clearly a threat to herself and others and being drunk is irrelevant. Kinda scary that she was released.

Shoulda dropped her off in Palestine. Literally.

It's good that there were marshals aboard this flight so that the passengers didn't have to band together to jump her drunken, combative ass. Do flight attendants even carry handcuffs or zip ties for those situations?

Sock it to her, but good...

I always carry a bunch of zip ties in my carry on for ass hats like this. Seems like it is always females that get drunk and stupid on aircraft. If she wasn't a US citizen they should have put her on a one way to Israel; they know how to deal with her kind...

Can someone clarify? Is she a US citizen? If not, was her passport taken from her as she could just hop on a plane and return home?

The editor got this story all wrong. She was flying with British Airways on the Concorde. She became upset when nobody would join her in the lavatory.

What the buck are you kidding this person is out on bail after threatening the lives of passengera on a plane Makes sense im sure glad we have judges who will lockup a person with no bail or bail thats att a level the person has no chance of getting out all because of he had 1/2 oz of cocaine. Yea def no comparisons there damn coke head could hurt him. Crazy woman attacks us marshall which id think by itself would be a no bail situation but then u throw in threat of killing plane full of passengers. And she gets out on bail. This another reminder of how sad our court system can be.

This is the type of ordeal where we need no trials or lawyers but instead we solve it on rhe plane ourselves which consists of politely asking pilot via stewardess to drop this condor down to about 4or5 thousand feet open up
1 of the emergency door or main door once pressure levels stabilizes. Thank her 4. Flying whichever airline give her a bagof peanuta and toss her ass out.

How did they allow her onto the plane with a cigarette lighter and a bottle of Vodka? Aren't those items on the restricted list?
And I cannot believe they let her out on bail...

UNBELIEVABLE!! They should’ve let the passengers handle her. I fly in and out of DC regularly and I can promise you, she wouldn’t have walked off the plane! AND they gave her pre-trial release??
