Trump Pulls White House Invite To Eagles, Because They Won't Stand For Flag

President Trump cancelled the Philadelphia Eagles' team visit to the White House after part of team opted not to attend.

Washington, D.C. – President Donald Trump has canceled invite for the Super Bowl champion visit to the White House because multiple team members opted not to come rather than stand for the National Anthem.

"The Philadelphia Eagles are unable to come to the White House with their full team to be celebrated tomorrow," President Donald Trump said in a statement released on Monday.

"They disagree with their President because he insists that they proudly stand for the National Anthem, hand on heart, in honor of the great men and women of our military and the people of our country. The Eagles wanted to send a smaller delegation, but the 1,000 fans planning to attend the event deserve better,” the President’s statement read.

President Trump said the Eagles’ fans were still invited to come and participate in a “different kind of ceremony,” according to CNN.

"One that will honor our great country, pay tribute to the heroes who fight to protect it, and loudly and proudly play the National Anthem," President Trump said, according to CNN.

The NFL recently adopted a new policy that said players could remain in the locker room while the national anthem was played; however, players and personnel who choose to be out on the field must stand for the National Anthem or they will be fined, according to ESPN.

It’s not the first time this President has told athletes to stay home.

After the San Francisco-based Golden State Warriors won the national basketball championship in 2017, Golden State Coach Steve Kerr said his team had not decided whether they would go to the White House, according to the Washington Post.

Two-time MVP Stephen Curry had initially said he didn't want to attend, USA Today reported.

“I don’t want to go,” Curry said. “That’s kind of the nucleus of my belief… [But] it’s not just me going to the White House. If it was, this would be a pretty short conversation.”

The President was quick to rescind his invitation to the entire championship basketball team over the snub.

“Going to the White House in considered a great honor for a championship team. Stephen Curry is hesitating, therefore invitation is withdrawn!” President Trump tweeted the next day.

NFL players, I don't buy game tickets or purchase pay for view games to watch you make political statements. I don't care what your political views are. I am paying to watch you provide the entertainment that you have signed a contract to perform. If making all that money for playing a game is to difficult here in the U.S. I suggest you try to find another country that will let you get paid as well. If you want to be political activists do it on your days off and I would suggest that you consider donating a sizable portion of your paycheck so that we can see that you are really behind the cause and not just using your access to the media to get more face time.

@Hi_estComnDenomn - what exactly upsets you about Trump? The country's low unemployment rate, high stock market, handling North Korea better than any other president has, etc, etc. Is it that Trump doesn't play the PC game that liberals crave for or him asking nfl players to stand for the anthem and show respect for a country that allows them to make millions of dollars a year playing a kids game? Never in my life have a witnessed such a childish display from a group of supposedly grown men. Since we're talking about presidents, what do you think about the latest revelation about Obama allowing the terrorist regime of Iran access to our banking system after he pledged to the country he would not? Obama really is an embarrassment, don't you think?

@LEO0301 As I've said multiple times before, Trump had no political experience before, and he's a reality game show host. He is as effective as Kim Kardashian would be in that role. Which is why i assume he took her counsel, because they are the same. Shrewd business professionals who chase headlines.

  1. How would you react if Kim Kardashian was president?
  2. What are your thoughts about celebrities having the president's ear?

@LEO0301 And straight up, Trump had very little to do with North Korea. South Korea's President Moon, a certified bad ass in his day that didn't shy away from military service when he was drafted, initiated the peace talks, then passed the ball to Trump.

Do keep in mind that while trump was comparing nuke button sizes with Kim, SK and NK Olympic teams were training together. Did you forget that?

Reports are coming in that trump was utterly mesmerized by Kim Kardashian due to a total lack of porn in the White House, he was drooling when he signed the pardon.

@Hi_estComnDenomn - All the experts have agreed that Trump was the one who managed to do what no other president was able to accomplish. Even Moon credits Trump with getting North Korea to the table. North Korea has never been in fear of the South. They're afraid of us.

I had to laugh at your question concerning celebrities. Obama frequently played to the celebrities and often had them to the White House. I guess you conveniently forgot.

Trump was never a Kim Kardashian. He was a celebrity but he was also an astute business man. Kardashian is best known for a home porno video that was leaked to the public.

@LEO0301 All American experts agree Trump is responsible for North Korea. And President Moon is a very humble man and realizes he has to involve the US in these talks. He has also involved China, the other major world power, to these talks, which somehow American news media skips over.

And presidents have always invited celebrities to the White House, but i don't think they've ever been involved politically while visiting. Big difference.

Finally, say what you want about Kim Kardashian, she is a multi-hundred-millionaire attached to successful clothing, makeup, and lifestyle brands and multiple reality shows that anchor the E! Network. She's been a constant in social streams and news headlines for more than a decade. A dumb person can't do any of that. You may not like her, but to not see that she is an extremely shrewd business woman is just foolish.

@LEO0301 The big shocker (not really) of you Fox News viewers is how hard you believe Trump had any major part of NK aside from Pres Moon handing it off to us. Again, you don't even need news coverage to follow the timeline of NK and SK working in cooperation. Remember when Mike Pence was at the Olympics giving. Kim's sister the side-eye,while the Koreans marched into the stadium together? What part of any of that tells you America was the fore runner of Korean peace talks?

@Hi_estComnDenomn - talking to you is like talking to a child. They lack the intellect to make a logical argument just like you. Also, I don't watch Fox or any other news show. Sorry to disappoint, Cheech.

Hi_estComnDenomn
Hi_estComnDenomn

@LEO0301 Great, I'm a child. Now answer my childish question on how you assume Trump was the reason North Korea decided to come to the negotiating table, even though South and North Korea were mending fences months before the US got involved?

Or don't, because deep down you know I'm making sense.

LEO0301

@Hi_estComnDenomn - I choose to believe the experts who have closely monitored the situation in Korea over some anonymous guy living in California.

Hi_estComnDenomn
Hi_estComnDenomn

@LEO0301 then you should look into foreign policy experts from other countries, clown. Of course American policy experts would treat this as a direct win for Trump. He's the American president.

And I didn't give an analysis. I gave common sense explanation of shit that happened in real life. Pay attention.

LEO0301
LEO0301

@Hi_estComnDenomn - common sense?! Seriously? You rarely exhibit common sense, Cheech. Too much dope smoking has turned your brain to mush. Democrats in this country, who hate Trump, have even managed to praise his effort with North Korea. Now you want me to go over the pond to consider a foreigners POV? Okay then.....

Hi_estComnDenomn
Hi_estComnDenomn

@LEO0301 😂 "consider a foreigner's POV"

Because God forbid you hear an opinion from anyone else who doesn't look and think just like you.

You're an idiot. I'm not saying that to call you a name. I mean it. You are an idiot.

LEO0301
LEO0301

@Hi_estComnDenomn - of course, if you say so, Cheech. I consider other opinions, but the only ones that count are here in the states. The opinion of France or "throw all your knives away" England don't matter. Now you go back to work while I enjoy my day at the beach. Save up your money and maybe on day you can afford to visit my neighborhood. Although be careful, there's nothing but white people living here.
