Laredo, TX - Three Laredo police officers are in the hospital after a gunfight on Friday.
According to News4SanAntonio, police were searching for Antonio Gerardo Rodriguez, the suspect in his girlfriend's homicide. His girlfriend, Reyna Gonzalez Zamora, was found dead on Friday morning, according to ClicktoHouston.
After finding Zamora's body, an alert was issued for Rodriguez, who was considered armed and dangerous.
The three officers located and confronted Rodriguez at a Stripes convenience store near Hillside and Mcpherson, and he opened fire. Officers returned fire, and Rodriguez was shot until he died.
Three officers were shot in the gun battle, and at least one of the officers is in critical condition. The condition of the other two officers hasn't been released.
No further details are known at this time.
