Ten Inmates Escape In Lino Lakes Prison Break, Massive Manhunt In Progress

Lino Lakes, MN - Ten inmates escaped from Minnesota Correctional Facility-Lino Lakes Friday morning.

Just before 11 AM on Friday, an inmate climbed over the prison fence and hijacked a prison transport van full of other inmates.

Lino Lakes, MN - Ten inmates escaped from Minnesota Correctional Facility-Lino Lakes Friday morning.

Just before 11 AM on Friday, an inmate climbed over the prison fence and hijacked a prison transport van full of other inmates.

Five inmates were located and taken into custody at gunpoint shortly after the initial escape, and another four were arrested about an hour later.

The stolen van was recovered in north Minneapolis. Police are asking anybody in the area from Penn Avenue to Thomas Avenue, and Dowling Avenue to 42nd Avenue to stay in their homes and call 911 to report suspicious activity.

According to Star Tirbune, 'The Department of Corrections has identified five of the inmates involved in the escape.Three were serving time for assault, one for domestic assault and one for a weapons violation. They are: Mitchell, Kevin Ladell Mitchell, 31, Mitchell Dale Saltzman, 36, Dylan Cantrell Bathke, 21, and Paul Jerome Thunder, 39.'

One of the escaped inmates is still at large. He has been identified as Jame Mitchell, 26, is a Puerto Rican male, 5'10", 195 lbs, black hair, and brown eyes, and was last seen wearing blue jeans, a white t-shirt, a blue button-down shirt, and white shoes. Mitchell is actively avoiding law enforcement after his escape and he should be considered extremely dangerous.

Mitchell was in prison for a felony assault.

Minnesota Correctional Facility-Lino Lakes is a medium and minimum-security prison with a population of 1,800 inmates.
