Chattanooga, TN - A Tenneesee Steak 'n Shake waitress is in jail after Hamilton County Sheriff's Deputy Ricky Wolfe discovered a baggie of cocaine in his drink on Thursday.
According to Fox 17, the incident occurred about 11 PM at the Steak 'n Shake Restaurant located at 5118 Hixson Pike.
According to an affidavit obtained by News Channel 9, officers responded to an assault call at the restaurant. Upon arrival, the off-duty deputy told officers that he had found a baggie of cocaine in his drink. Officers and the restaurant manager reviewed surveillance video of Deputy Wolfe being served by his waitress, Jedievea Monchell Yearby.
The video shows Yearby dropping the baggie of cocaine into Deputy Wolfe's drink.
Yearby admitted that the cocaine was hers and said that it must have fallen out of her waitress book while she was taking his order.
Police officers arrested Yearby, and she told police that she had a second baggie of cocaine in her bra.
She was charged with assault, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Upon arrival to the Hamilton County Jail, the affidavit said that police recovered the second baggie, as well as a black straw that tested positive for cocaine residue. The total amount of cocaine recovered from Yearby was .07 grams.
It's not clear how much of the drink was consumed by the deputy.
According to WFXL, Yearby was immediately fired by Steak 'n Shake.
Management at the Steak 'n Shake restaurant assisted law enforcement immediately, and fired the waitress that was involved. This is a restaurant that you should support.
