Chesnee, SC - South Carolina man, Anthony Briggs, is in jail after he posed as a police officer and used that position to sexually abuse children.
Anthony Briggs was arrested on Friday, accused of molesting three children. Prosecutors said that his victims were three boys, ages 12, 14, and 14, according to Fox News. He met two of his victims through an after-school program.
One incident happened at Briggs' grandmother's house, where one victim told investigators that he had been sleeping and awoke to find Briggs touching his genitals.
Anthony Briggs was charged with criminal sexual conduct for that incident.
Another incident, according to prosecutors, occurred when Briggs placed the victim's hand on his genitals.
Briggs had a hearing Saturday morning, July 1, and he admitted to sending pictures and videos of his genitals to the 12-year-old victim, and to one of the 14-year-old victims. Both children also sent pictures of their genitals back to Briggs when he asked them to.
One victim stopped communicating with Briggs, and he posed as a police officer, stopping the victim, showing him a gun, a badge, and police letterhead. He told the victim that he was putting him on probation.
Prosecutors said, "All these young men and their families believed that Mr. Briggs was a police officer and he put the young man on probation and told him he had to check in with him every day while he was on probation.”
Briggs is charged with first degree sexual exploitation of a minor, second degree sexual exploitation of a minor, impersonating a police officer, third degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, distributing obscene material to a minor under the age of 18, distributing obscene material to a minor under the age of 12, and distributing obscene material to a minor under the age of 18.
He is being held in the Spartanburg County Detention Center, under no bond.
