Shooting Outside US Capitol

Washington, DC - Metropolitan Police Department has swarmed the scene of a shooting outside the US Capitol.

At around 9:22 AM officers attempted to stop a vehicle on Independence Ave that was driving reckless

Washington, DC - Metropolitan Police Department has swarmed the scene of a shooting outside the US Capitol.

This incident just occurred at the time of this writing and details are still coming in.

At around 9:22 AM officers attempted to stop a vehicle on Independence Ave that was driving recklessly, and an obvious threat to the lives of people in the area. The vehicle took off and almost ran down officers and actually did strike another vehicle.

The vehicle was finally stopped and during an attempts to arrest suspect, shots were fired but nobody was hit.

The car it still on scene with obvious damage. It's unknown if any of the gunshots came from an occupant in the vehicle or if law enforcement fired all of the shots.
