Rep. Cummings' Home Burglarized Hours Before Trump Tweeted About Baltimore

U.S. Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Maryland) home was burglarized just hours before the President called Baltimore a rat hole.

Baltimore, MD – Just hours before President Donald Trump set off a firestorm of criticism by tweeting that U.S. Representative Elijah Cummings’ (D-Maryland) Baltimore-area district was a “disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess,” the congressman’s home was burglarized.

Police said the burglary occurred at the West Baltimore home located in the 2000-block of Madison Avenue around 3:40 a.m. on July 27, WJZ reported.

The burglary is under investigation by detectives from the Baltimore Police Department’s Central District.

Police don’t yet have a motive or know if any property was taken from the home, according to WJZ.

There are no suspects at this time.

One neighbor told WJZ that their doorbell camera captured some relevant footage but police haven’t publicly mentioned surveillance footage.

Cummings, a career politician, has represented Maryland’s 7th Congressional District since 1996.

Neighbors said they were shocked to hear his home had been targeted and that Cummings had been very good to folks on his street.

Despite having just been a victim of crime, Cummings quickly clapped back at President Trump’s assertions that his district was a rat-infested mess, and the two have been engaged in a Twitter war about it for almost a week.

Democratic leaders have called the President a “racist” for his description of Cummings’ district and widely-condemned his characterization of Baltimore.

In response, President Trump has trolled Cummings and other Democrats with their own, similar descriptions of what was once known as “Charm City.”

President Trump has continued to talk about problems in Baltimore, “pointing out facts” about the city to reporters who challenged his assertions.

The President talked about how much federal money has been pumped into the city with nothing to show for it.

He suggested that House Oversight Committee Chairman Cummings should take his oversight committee and “park ‘em in Baltimore and find out what happened to the $15 billion dollars and a lot of other money.”

The congressman on Wednesday turned down an invitation to visit HUD-funded housing projects in his district with Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson in the midst of his heated exchanges over the city’s condition, WJZ reported.

President Trump tweeted about the burglary on Friday morning after the news became public.

“Really bad news! The Baltimore house of Elijah Cummings was robbed. Too bad!” he tweeted.

Lying, race baiting, double standard demonrats at their finest. WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!! This can't be in more plain view of who is oppressing minorities and their neighborhoods. It's not the police, it's not the republicans. F**K THE DNC!!!!!!!!!!!

If someone doesn't agree with something that another person said...then the other person is automatically a racist. Doesn't make any difference what the issue could be whether it's raining outside or not. If you disagree if it's raining, you must be a racist.

Anyone want to take bets on how long until there are claims that the burglars were wearing MAGA hats and were carrying nooses to be thrown around?

As an aside, many nice neighborhoods experience burglaries as well, because the bad guys know the nicer neighborhoods have nicer stuff. This appears to be a coincidence.

Can anyone tell me why this tweet was necessary? Is this really leadership? Can anyone tell me they would have been just as happy if President Obama were tweeting and calling fox, breitbart, BLM, alex and others the way trump does.

Do not reply with WHATABOUTISM and wasted babble.

Congressional thug gets robbed by real thugs, thanks to his 12 years of maintaining a shithole district. You can't make this stuff up!
