President Trump Acquitted By Senate

The U.S. Senate voted "not guilty" on both Articles of Impeachment against President Donald Trump on Wednesday.

Washington, DC – The U.S. Senate voted on Wednesday to acquit President Donald Trump on both impeachment charges brought against him by the U.S. House of Representatives.

One day after President Trump delivered an upbeat State of the Union address that did not even mention the impeachment trial, the Republican-held Senate failed to get anything close to the 67 votes required to pass either of the two Articles of Impeachment, USA Today reported.

Senators voted late on the afternoon of Feb. 5 to acquit President Trump by a vote of 52 to 48 on the first Article of Impeachment, which accused the President of abuse of power.

They voted 53 to 47 “not guilty” on the second Article of Impeachment, which accused the President of obstruction of Congress.

There were few surprises when senators gave speeches before the vote.

Former Presidential candidate and U.S. Senator Mitch Romney (R-Utah) delivered a lengthy diatribe that sought to justify his decision to vote to convict President Trump.

However, Romney is widely considered to be a “RINO,” Republican in Name Only, and his decision to go against the party was not unexpected.

U.S. Senator Kyrsten Sinema (D-Arizona), who many had speculated might break ranks with the Democratic Party, announced ahead of the vote that she was planning to vote to convict the President, KTAR reported.

Neither vote would have made a difference, however, as an impeachment conviction requires a two-thirds vote, or the support of at least 67 senators.

Supporters of President Trump celebrated online and at events across the country.

Many have predicted that information brought forward during the impeachment investigation and other investigations surrounding the Trump administration will result in a number of new charges, this time against Democrats.

President Trump’s acquittal was a foregone conclusion after the Senate voted late Friday afternoon to kill a motion by Senate Democrats that would have allowed additional witnesses and documents to be admitted into the impeachment trial.

After the vote, U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, who presided over the impeachment trial, formally declared that President Trump was “therefore ordered and adjudged… acquitted of the charges in said articles.”

Romney is disgraceful. He goes down in history as the only senator to ever vote to remove a sitting president from his own party.

I actually called his office at 3:00 p.m. before the vote to voice my disgust, and left a message. I also tried to webmail, but his on-line webmail was in overload.

He needs to switch parties. I hope Utah figures out a way to recall him.

I voted for Romney when he ran against Obama. I will never cast a vote for him again, vindictive little RINO.

Perhaps now Pelosi and the dems should draft a statement to the American people apologizing for their waste of American taxpayers money and offer to repay it out of their personal coffers.

First of all, Romney needs to be removed from the Republican Party.. He is more or less a Democrat and a back stabber. Secondly, Nancy Pelosi needs to be charged with destroying a government document and censured for her tantrum like behavior.Furthermore, we have to expect more charges brought forth and another costly impeachment from the Democrats. This is the only way they knows how to win, and it is by cheating. Perhaps they should have to pay for the next impeachment charges, out of pocket, instead of using tax payers money. Tax payers money should go to more reasonable causes such as aid for veterans, our own homeless, and inter-structures instead of sham charges and free medical and whatever for non-citizens that came here illegally. I'm not against immigration, however come to the United States, as others before you did, legally.

Congrats to the president on the impeachment vote. He deserves plaudits..he has earned them through what he has done and the harassment he has had to put himself and his family through. Mitt Romney? Who cares! Deb? Rep? He can have his opinion too...he just isn't that newsworthy anymore. Now, as for Nancy Pelosi and her DESPICABLE and claim such a revolting hand gesture. ACTION on national TV..that is deplorable....bottom line, President Trump IS OUR PRESIDENT! You may like him or dislike him..but while he holds the title, he represents us ALL. There would be no need for someone, such as N. P. to radicalize the speech and revolting hand gesture. (Truly, I am more concerned about the alzheimer lip-biting that transpired throughout the entire speech! Somethings medically amiss with NP.)

accused the President of abuse of power????? Who writes their own pay raises? Who gave themselves a different hospitalization plan? Who only works half a year? Who gets their paycheck for the rest of their life after they don't get reelected? Who gets elected with bank accounts like mid Americans, and a few years later are multimillionaires? Who is abusing their power? HUH WHO?

Let's see.... a sham impeachment investigation, a partisan vote to impeach (and bipartisan not to), and a trial based on the law, where the president was acquitted of all charges (again, based on a partisan vote).

The house embarrassed itself, and the senate had to clean up their mess, only to show that the impeachment was all about politics, and not actual facts. Another day in the Washington Swamp

It's really a shame that nothing will be accomplished until Jan of 2021 when a new Republican House and Senate are sworn in and are seated.

I am glad my mom is not around to see this, as she always told me not to say anything about how people look; they may be kind and good friends one day. I agree, but I absolutely cannot help myself when it comes to Adam Schiff and Jerry Nadler! They both look like cartoon characters out of a Batman movie.
There is Nadler, who has his pants pulled all the way up to his Man-Boobs, looks like he has no tummy in his rotund shape, mentally off-camber due to be turned down to do Tommy John Commercials. I won't comment on insecurity issues as I have no credentials to do so, so I won't!

Schiff, I have to use discipline on this one. Again no credentials in mental health, so no comment unless lying is open for opine by non-professionals. They yet cops are the best lie detectors out there from long experience gardering skill sets in such matters; thus, I can say with confidence that Schiff may not tell the truth, hope he gets put under oath, and we will see what he spouts then. HIS EYES! I saw a cow, hit with a sledgehammer in the forehead, and Schiff's eyes look precisely the way the cow's eyes did!!! I CANNOT LOOK AT HIM; I JUST CAN'T!!!

Sorry mom
