Portland, OR - Portland rioters had demanded the police chief's resignation on Tuesday because his officers used crowd control measures to defend officers who were being attacked by rioters.
When the chief declined their demands to resign, the group vowed to show up Wednesday morning to shut the city down. The morning came and went with no signs of the rioters. They then claimed that they were still showing up later in the day, after the rain had stopped.
The rioters showed up as promised the second time, and stood in the middle of an intersection, blocking traffic.
Many of the rioters showed up prepared with gas masks with clear intent on a confrontation with police, and they got one:
Officers rushed in, threw the rioters to the ground, and took them into custody.
Smaller groups of rioters splintered off to cause more issues. They tried to drag a large dumpster into the street, but the weaklings weren't strong enough to move it.

There are at least 40 rioters still reportedly roaming free on the streets.
