Police Union Says They Were Duped By NFL Team, Tells Cops To Return Tickets

The Broward County Police Benevolent Association had a message for their members about the Miami Dolphins.

Miami, FL - A south Florida police union is asking officers to return their NFL tickets after they say they were duped by the Miami Dolphins.

The Broward County Police Benevolent Association posted the message to their Facebook page on Friday.

In the message, the PBA explained that they were told that the Miami Dolphins were going to honor all first responders.

Dolphins players have a history of kneeling during the national anthem in protest of police, and the PBA believed that the kneeling was going to stop.

However, players kneeled in protest of police anyway. The PBA explained what happened:

The Broward County PBA recently offered our members discounts to a Miami Dolphins game because that franchise said they were going to honor all First Responders.

We entered into this partnership with the understanding that the Dolphins organization would require their players to stand for the National Anthem. This did not happen at last night's preseason game against Tampa Bay.

As a result, the BCPBA will no longer participate in this ticket program, and we are asking all of our members, as well as members of the Dade County PBA and Palm Beach County PBA, not to participate either.

If you have already purchased tickets to this game, we encourage you to call the Dolphins ticket office to request a refund because this organization obviously DOES NOT honor First Responders and the dangers they put themselves in every day.

Colin Kaepernick started kneeling on the field during the National Anthem in the pre-season of 2016, protesting the flag over allegations that American police officers are racist killers.

“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses Black people and people of color. To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder,” Kaepernick said at the time.

Kaepernick opted out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers after the 2016 season and sat out the 2017 NFL season when no other teams signed him.

His teammate Eric Reid was a vocal supporter of the anthem protests. Reid also didn't sign again with the 49ers, and became a free agent.

Both players have since been unemployed and have filed a lawsuit against the NFL alleging a conspiracy to keep them out of the game in retaliation for the upheaval caused by the kneeling.

take a knee to something you have been fed by the media. Stay ignorant and bypass the truth. Don't finance these asses by buying tickets, let's see how many make millions of dollars with empty seats and no tickets sold. let's all make a real difference, let them take their "stand" and have empty pockets. don't buy any merchandise if a company is stupid enough to endorse the ones who kneel.

I'd like to see empty stands for this entire season.

More of the same. I have been a hardcore Miami fan since the early days of Don Shula. Last year, for the very first time, I didn't watch a single game. Being the forgiving type I decided to reconsider when I read the Dolphins planned to punish the players this year if they failed to stand for the anthem. Now, those pussies have backed off of their promise and aren't going to do anything should the players decide to protest. So I have decided once again not to watch the NFL games. I don't care that players want to protest. Have at it. But do so on your own time, not your employers.

Someone has to say this; the good old days of pro athletes showing respect for their country is long gone. Many prefer to kneel like slaves and their democrat masters are very pleased.

Oppressed, how are you oppressed? Germans slaughtered Jewish people by the millions, they are not waking around in the world always crying boo hoo.

You have more opportunities now than anyone else has because you are black. Enough is enough, get off your crutch. Maybe you really don't want equality, because all you have to do is cry racism and you get your way. Disgraceful.

NFL players are the ones that are duped by the BLM movement that accepts donations that directly funds the lifestyles of the organizers. The NFL can't control its players. They are so overpaid that the fines are insignificant.

How about we stop making a big deal out of nothing? If they want to kneel so what? This is a "Free speech" issue, and the more we piss and moan about it the more attention they get, don't give them any.

This kneeling crap is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen! Those overpaid thugs thinks they have been oppressed when they are free to play football making millions of dollars a year. Yet NONE will get out in the community to help out with the so called oppression. They think they are making a name for themselves but instead they are just showing how stupid they really are. I thought as a player on a team you had leaders when all they are is a bunch of overpaid crime committing followers!!

Police should refuse to do any security for those cowards. Let the big money owners pay private security firms and they can all have a tea party after they prance off the field
