Police Arrest The Night King For Destroying Wall

Norway police have locked up one of the most notorious criminals today when the jailed Game Of Thrones' Night King

Trondheim, Norway – Police in Norway did a mock arrest of a man dressed as a popular villain on the HBO show Game of Thrones.

The Norway police posted a tongue-in-cheek April 15 Facebook post announcing the arrest of the Night King, who is the leader of the White Walkers, the supernatural villains in Game of Thrones. The “arrest” was made just hours after the season premiere of the show.

The police said they were acting on tips about a man from the “north” involved in criminal activity.

“Our Night’s Watch has now apprehended the man to deter any further criminal activity on his behalf,” police said on Facebook post, according to KWQC.

The police said they had a “northern” suspect who was allegedly involved in numerous crimes, that included destroying a wall, cruelty to animals and making “threats to lay vast areas of land desolate,” KWQC reported.

The Facebook post generated 40,000 likes and 12,000 comments as of April 19.

The Superintendent of Trondheim’s Police’s Fifth Division Markus Ree told Newsweek there was an overwhelming reaction to the Facebook and had more interactions than anything they posted previously. He said it helps bring people to the police Facebook page.

"Funny posts like this one help engage social media users," he said, according to Newsweek. "That's useful when we later ask for help solving crimes or searching for missing persons.”

The man “arrested” was actually a young police officer who was handpicked for the job, according to Newsweek.

There were 11.78 million viewers in the U.S. who tuned in to watch the premiere for the eighth season, according to Forbes.
