Hudson, OH– People are expressing outrage on social media after a craft store tweeted that it allows customers to carry firearms.

In a Dept. 7 tweet, JOANN Fabric & Craft said, "Hi! JOANN prefers that guns are not brought into our stores, to help foster a comfortable shopping environment. However, if a customer lawfully brings a gun in, and is not disrupting other customers or is not perceived as a threat, then we generally will allow it. -Rachel."

The tweet appears to simply be explaining existing policy, but it comes after Walmart announced it would no long allow open carry of firearms in their stores.

The announcement was followed up by similar announcements from Kroger, Walgreens, Wegmans, and CVS.

The craft store's different response did not go over well.

The Washington Post reported that California, Florida, Illinois and Washington, D.C. “generally bar people” from open carrying guns in public. The rest of the states do allow some form of open carrying, the Washington Post reported.

The standards for what licenses and the type of guns allowed to be carried openly in public can vary state to state, according to the Washington Post.

None of the companies made mention of prohibiting concealed carry, but it remains to be seen of the companies will have signs prohibiting firearms.

I wish anti-gun people would get as pissed at the criminals as they do the law abiding people.

🤣🤣🤣 Wasn't there just a comment section of cry babies last week about Walmart et. al. banning open carry?

What other comparison do you need that there are cry babies on both sides?

Typical liberal response to people exercising their rights: bully, hate and expose. Cowards.

I usually experience “a comfortable shopping environment” when the staff are prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable, and the the price doesn’t resemble a prostrate exam by an epileptic doctor. The person with the lawful firearm has my thanks if he eliminates the POS who enters the store to demonstrate his criminal sense of entitlement - because the POS is the one who compromises my shopping comfort. A nice bottle of single malt to the any of you who lawfully takes out the nasty insect who is ruining my consumer experience.
