Oklahoma Cheerleading Coach Charged For Sexual Abuse Of Multiple Students
Sallisaw, OK – A teacher and cheerleading coach at Central School in Sequoyah County was arrested and charged for sexual abuse of three students.
The investigation into 29-year-old Brandy Lynn Foreman began after Central Public Schools Superintendent Larry Henson received a tip about the teacher’s activities, the Sequoyah County Times reported.
Someone called the Oklahoma Board of Education and reported possible “inappropriate sexual contact and the exchange of inappropriate photos between a teacher, Brandy Foreman, and possibly two current students and one previous student at Central School.”
Henson notified authorities and Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Investigator Cindy Smith went to the school and interviewed the students and Foreman about the allegations, the Sequoyah County Times reported.
One of the students told police that relations with Foreman began in 2017 after they communicated and “talked sexually” through the Snapchat.
He also said the teacher also sent him a nude photo of herself through Snapchat, the Sequoyah County Times reported.
The probable cause affidavit filed by Investigator Smith said Foreman admitted she did have sex about three times with that student.
The teacher told Investigator Smith that the last time she had sex with the student was in June and July of 2019, but noted that the student had graduated in May, according to the Sequoya County Times.
However, the probable cause affidavit said another 16-year-old student told police that he had sex with Foreman between June and August 2018.
That student said the teacher would pick him up in her car and they would drive to a back road in Sequoyah County and have sex, the Sequoya County Times reported.
The probable cause affidavit said the 16 year old told Investigator Smith that he could not recall how many times he had sex with Foreman during a three-month span in the summer of 2018, according to the New York Post.
Foreman was placed on administrative leave at Central School.
She was arrested on Dec. 11 and charged with four counts of sexual battery, according to the Sequoyah County Times.
The teacher was booked into the county jail and released on a $20,000 bond.
Sequoyah County District Attorney Jack Thorp told the Sequoyah County Times that if Foreman is convicted, she could be sentenced to up to 40 years in prison, according to the Sequoyah County Times.
Foreman’s next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 29.
