NYPD Officer Shot While Sitting In His Vehicle
New York, NY - A New York Police Department (NYPD) officer was shot Saturday night while he was sitting in his vehicle.
At around 8:45 p.m., the unidentified officer was sitting in his NYPD van and East 163rd St and Barretto St when a man approached him and asked him for directions, according to New York Post.
The man then pulled out a gun and shot the officer in the chin and neck.
The officer was transported to the hospital conscious and alert, according to PIX11.
The gunman was able to escape after the shooting and he remains at large.
No suspect information has been released at this time.
