NFL Player's Two Girlfriends Steal Over $500k In Jewelry From Him
Hollywood, FL – Two women who were described as girlfriends of National Football League running back Le’Veon Bell disappeared with more than $500,000 in jewelry that was at Bell’s Florida home.
Police said that Bell returned from the gym May 25 and found the women gone and his jewelry missing, according to the Associated Press. The police report referred to the two women as Bell’s girlfriends.
Bell told police the items in his closet were in disarray and his jewelry was missing, according to the Associated Press.
That included two gold chains with diamonds, a black panther pendant with black and white diamonds and a Rolex watch. The combined value of all the items missing was $520,000 according to the AP.
Bell sat out last season due to a contract dispute and didn’t play with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He signed a four-year, $52.5 million contract with $35 million guaranteed with the New York Jets this season. Bell practiced with his new team on Tuesday for the first time.
In 2014, Bell was charged with a DUI when he and then-teammate LaGarrette Blount and a female were arrested in Pittsburgh, according to Sports Illustrated. P
olice smelled marijuana coming from his car and Bell was driving. In the police report, the officer told Bell that he could not operate a vehicle because he had been smoking marijuana.
Bell responded, “I didn’t know that you could get a DUI for being high,” according to Sports Illustrated.
Bell was suspended for three games in 2016 for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. Bell missed several drug tests, according to NFL.com.
Bell has been selected to three Pro Bowls in his career and was a First-Team All Pro in 2014 and 2017. He has rushed for 5,336 yards in his five-year career and 35 TDs after starring in college at Michigan State.
