More Stoneman Douglas Students Arrested For Weapons, Threats

Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students were arrested on Tuesday.

Parkland, FL - The Broward County Sheriff's Office announced on Tuesday that two Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students were arrested for bringing weapons to school.

A third suspect is accused of making threats on social media, according to WSVN.

The two arrested students brought knives on campus, while another student was involuntarily committed after he posted a threat to Snapchat.

WFTS reports that in one picture, the teen had a gun in his waistband, and in another he was showing off bullets. Both messages contained written threats.

Once that suspect has been cleared from his mental evaluation, he will taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center.

Following the school shooting and recent arrests, Governor Rick Scott wrote to Superintendent Robert Runcie and Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel asking them to post law enforcement officers at every entry point to the school.

The Governor offered assistance from the Florida Highway Patrol to secure the school.

"Recent events at the school have demonstrated the need for additional security measures to be implemented," Governor Scott wrote. "It is imperative that the proper steps are immediately taken at all schools, including Marjory Stoneman Douglas to keep students and staff safe."

"Today, I am requesting that immediate action be taken to require an armed law enforcement officer to secure every point of entry at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School while students are on campus," the governor continued. "To help with this goal, the state is willing to provide assistance from the Florida Highway Patrol, until a more permanent safety plan can be put into place."

Sheriff Israel has not yet responded.

Hey why doesn’t somebody check into hireing recent police retirees for P/T or F/T postings. Give them something to do AND save patrol officers for street duties. It’s truly a win - win for all concerned.

Florida ny and nj transplants down there wont spend the money.
Northeast ass holes moving there are destroying florida with their bs far left anti cop and gum mentality. Disband the police dept if you feel signs are good enough.

Maybe there's a more fundamental issue with the school than we're being lead to believe...
