Man Allegedly Bit Off Officer's Finger And Swallowed It
New York, NY – A man bit off a police officer’s finger and may have swallowed it while inside a Brooklyn police station.
Police said they don’t know where the police officer’s finger is after Ainsley Johnson chewed it off, according to the New York Post.
Johnson, 34, is accused of biting off the tip of the officer’s left middle finger during a struggle inside a holding cell at the police station at about 6 p.m. April 6.
According to the New York Daily News, a 24-year-old police officer was taking Johnson to his jail cell when Johnson resisted.
Johnson and the police officer both fell to the floor during the ensuing fight. Johnson then bit off the finger from “nail to tip,” police said.
Johnson was in jail for a criminal mischief charge, the New York Post reported.
Johnson allegedly kicked in the doors and windows of a man’s car and smashed his mailbox with a cement planter during an argument. Johnson did not know his victim.
The New York Post also reported that Johnson was arrested once for raping a woman in Queens. Johnson forced a 20-year-old woman to take off her clothes and have sex with him while he was at his apartment in 2008. Johnson also had nine other arrests including two times in Florida.
Johnson has also been arrested for driving witout a license, forgery and resisting arrest, according to police.
Now, he has been charged with assault on a police officer and resisting arrest after biting the finger off of the officer.
The New York Daily News reported that Johnson was arrested 12 times since 2008.
Johnson was injured during the fight Friday and taken to the hospital. Police didn’t disclose the severity of his injuries.
The police officer was taken to Kings County Hospital.
