Woodbridge, VA - Security guard Larry Drumgole was stabbed and killed by Jamel Kingsbury at a Virginia mall after he was stopped for shoplifting.
According to WCVB5, the incident occurred on Saturday, March 4, at about 2:30 PM. at the Potomac Mills Mall. Prince William County Police Officers responded to a report of a stabbing.
Witnesses had observed Jamel Kingsbury shoplifting inside a Burlington Coat Factory store. Two Loss Prevention Officers approached and confronted him. A struggle ensued, and one security guard, Larry Drumgole, age 44, was stabbed. He was transported to a local hospital, where he died. The other security guard was not injured.
jamel Kingsbury fled and although officers searched the area, he has not been located. The investigation is ongoing and a manhunt is now underway for Kingsbury, age 35.
He was positively identified through surveillance video by officers who had responded to an unrelated domestic call on Saturday morning. Those Officers had also responded to this incident. Kingsbury is listed as homeless with no current address available.
Detectives have obtained a warrant for Kingsbury, according to WTOP. He is described as a black male, 6' 2", 190 pounds, with black hair.
