New Orleans, Louisiana - The anti-monument marchers including anarchists with Antifa and Black Lives Matter Groups, arrived at the Robert E. Lee monument and have squared off against pro-monument crowd, including anti-Antifa patriots and white supremacists at the "Battle of New Orleans."

The police have established metal barricades separating the groups by about 10 feet, and police officers are sparsely positioned between the two groups.

At this time, the anti-monument crowd appears to vastly outnumber the pro-monument crowd with well over 1,000 estimated on the anti-monument side.

New Orleans Police Department has been enforcing strict rules against weapons and masks, with at least one person arrested for concealing a knife. The mask ban appears to only go so far as wearing masks, as people in the anti-monument crowd could be seen carrying masks in their hands while at least one in the pro-monument group was wearing as mask around his neck. People have also been seen wearing chains.

The anti-monument protesters are waving anti-police signs while calling for death to police officers, and some people in the pro-monument crowd are calling out across the gap to "people of the African race."

The officers are working without protective gear, and are vastly outnumbered. If either group decides to break through the barricades or become violent, the officers on scene are in a position where they could be seriously hurt. At least some anti-monument protesters broke through air gap between the crowd and were allowed to walk through.
