Portland, OR - The Laurelhurst neighborhood in Portland has been placed on lockdown after a suspect engaged officers in a gunfight and escaped.
The incident initially started as a report of an armed suspicious person at around 6:30 AM Sunday morning, according to Oregon Live. The suspect shot at police when they arrived on scene, and the officers returned fire. The suspect then fled and was able to escape.
A perimeter has been established NE 32nd to Cesar Chavez, Burnside to NE Glisan, with everybody being told to stay inside and secure their residences.
The suspect has been described as a white male, 45-55 years old, blue hat, green shirt, black pants, black backpack, armed with handgun, who possibly has bullet holes in him.
No officers were injured in the shooting.
